I'm sorry but please allow to post this...

My dog is sitting on the bed giving me the same look as he did 2 years ago when my wife left for 3 months. I was a mess, and he knows. I am not even close to being as bad as 2 years ago, but I am not well. I'll get it figured out. I think I'm gonna catch a plane tomorrow. Get myself out of this hell hole.

Hey Thomas....my dog always knows when I'm a mess too, and gets all worried and depressed. They just know.

He looks at me like I'm the biggest loser the world has ever known. He's fed and been out to go potty. I can't do anything more for him at this opint.

I know. Mine does the same. He'll be okay....just take care of yourself first. He'll be so proud of you;)

You could pet him. :)

My guys are the same too. If I ever start looking rough, they put me on 24x7 watch. They seem to have a little shift schedule worked out between them. When one leaves to go outside, the other takes his place to keep an eye on me.

Yeah, they know! They just can't speak. Animals have keen instincts and will not ingest alcohol because they know it is POISON. My pet used to bite me when I'd try to kiss her head after drinking.
Wish my instincts kept me off the poison sooner.

what?! used to bite you? my little pumpkin pie would never bite me (I don't think)

I got 37channels of **** on the TV. Can you guess the song?

thomas11 05-24-2015 05:52 PM

Once again, I have become comfortably NUMB! I'm not being cute or clever, its just a fact.

Ginamarie323 05-24-2015 05:53 PM

Nobody Home, Pink Floyd.

Your dog tries to bite you at times? I couldn't imagine my dogs ever trying to bite me. Well, if they ever want to eat again they won't. :) (just kidding, partially)

Sometimes I'll play around with them, and shove my hand in their mouth to see what they will do. Sure enough, nothing.

I hate being hall monitor guys, but the OP is drinking and has been since sometime last week. And now he's telling us he's just fine with it. Again.

I'm laughing really hard right now, (if they ever want to eat again) that's good stuff.

I'm a big Pink Floyd fan too, but it's 13 channels, not 37. And I would suggest not listening to The Wall right now.

Hope2014 05-24-2015 05:57 PM

I have a suggestion.....instead of getting on a plane tomorrow, could you find a local meeting for support? If you get on the plane under the influence, you may be sick or risk legal problems if you get in trouble for public intoxication.
I know where you're at and I'm sure that going somewhere else will feel like you're getting away from the problem, but it will follow you. The only answer is to stop drinking. Tomorrow can be your last day 1 if you chose.
We're all rooting for you!:grouphug:

I think I'm gonna catch a plane tomorrow.

but you say you can't go to detox..........even your DOG knows it's time to DO something about this.

nine years ago our older dog bucky was just a puppy and we'd be smoking crack and the poor little thing would look at us like "What is WRONG with you two???" and then go hide in the bedroom. it was on oddly SHAMING moment.....and the start of our turnaround. 8.5 years off that sh!t.

that same dog is sacked out on the couch right now, 9 yrs old, without a care in the world as to what is wrong with his humans...........

RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE.

Anna 05-24-2015 06:07 PM

Thomas, our pets know when something is wrong.

I hope you continue to work on stopping drinking.

Soberpotamus 05-24-2015 06:09 PM

If your dog feels this badly for you, imagine what your wife is going to feel like, Jeff.

I'm putting in another vote for detox.

Pulling for you...
