EGNYC, huh! Such a name dropper
I've always loved the story from a very diffident luthier mate of mine years ago in Melbourne: his main overseas trip in the late-80s was to Europe, to buy various exotic timbers for the guitars, lutes and such which he builds. He spent quite some time with Paco Pena...Sounds like a really lovely chap.
Then (or a bit earlier), Clapton was in Melb for a concert. Something serious broke on one of his guitars (probably during his acoustic period as J only worked on non-e instruments). Mr C showed up on J's doorstep one evening with a minder or someone, to deliver the git for immediate work. Again, apparently, a lovely guy. Just a musician. Hah!
J, being so diffident, only told me these coupla short tales well after the fact, and then moved onto something else. Point is, as you and the rest of us know: most of the really classy musos just, well, 'are'. Themselves.
Back to the sound mix! (sorry Dee for chatting extraneously)

Excellente, Wolfie for both those.
And for all our delectation (and apols for bandwidth) - I so wanted to post a live version of Carlos Santana doing 'Song of the Wind'. Hard to find any on YT.
Failing that, hey, full concert with Santana and John McLaughlin. Two great and life-sensitive guitarists, full of, well, Life.

Anything by Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, or any combination of the two. Works every time. Best soul, funk, blues, jam out there today. Eric Clapton calls Derek Trucks the best slide player ever.

This song helped in getting me through some very, very dark periods.
For you musicians out there, listen to Martin Barre's guitar work (not the solo). Truly one of the most underrated guitarist, in all of rock (and then some), along with Brian May, Elliot Easton, and Neil Giraldo (for those who aren't sure, in order: Queen, The Cars and Mr. Pat Benatar).
And yes, Suki ,Terry Kath was a GREAT guitarist. By the way, I also love "Another Park Another Sunday" and Joe Jackson IS my favorite songwriter.

Oh my... how could I possibly choose one song, or a few...?
I listen to pretty much everything that captures my interest, but my heart is most settled in the various electronic music genres, I think.
As for something that "feels good"... that changes depending on the moment. My friend were listening to lots of Enigma songs tonight. Enigma is something I've liked since it first came out; it's the kind of spacey, creative, soulful stuff that is always pleasant for me. They also made many great, imaginative music videos. This is one of my faves:
I met Michael Cretu (the artist) once -- he appears just as enigmatic as his music... would be the kind of person that could really capture my interest if there was time and space to get to know him, I think.
