The irony of that song, which I really like incedently, is that you get 'comfortably numb,' so that other people can hammer you into any shape they want. It wasn't meant to be a good state.

Hope you try to stop soon

You;re a long way from being toast Jeff. You've got everything going for you, man.

It's time to stop running tho. Time to turn and face the elephant in the room, Jeff.

We've all felt that way. Drinking makes it worse. I remember the void.

You never have to feel this way again. Pour whatever's left down the drain.

Dude you're alive. You have your self. Do you never want to find out how precious that is? People drink themselves to death and never know.

Or you can stop.

wife family good health for a start - don't take those for granted.
I did.

There's all the material stuff too - money in the bank, own business, respect in the community, I assume nice car nice house and all the man toys anyone could ever want.

They may not be spiritually important but they're things that you've earned.

You've got it pretty good in a lot of ways Jeff. Now its time to fix the other stuff.

It's possible that you haven't revealed some things about yourself and your life here, and I'm not asking you to do that now. But you painted a pretty happy picture before you started drinking again. As I recall, you commented that things were just fine with you, except for your nagging inability to stop drinking once you started, and that this typically only occurred on weekends.

Given what's been going on these past few days, it's also possible that you need a different level of care than you were at first willing to acknowledge.

Detox is now a reasonable option.

Hey Jeff, if you have a wife & family, half of the story is that whatever YOU have going on , THEY have it too. Do you want them to have a sick, broke, miserable chronic drunk husband/father/son in their lives?

You can be a better man than that.

I think detox is a great option. Why is it unreasonable?
