I see the bus coming down the street! Looks like we have some new crome wheels. I'll take a window seat please.

Congrats on two weeks! Love the attitude of sharing your sobriety! Being honest about it and upfront helps me stay sober.

Welcome!

Welcome rain bug! You can count on us! Post as much as you need to and say something before you drink.

Remember if you need immediate help that the main board gets the widest audience and the fastest response.

Conquest! How incredibly heart warming a video! Just like us bus riders we will help the newest of us to get over that sober wall. Together as a team!

Thank you for that!

Great work MM! Fabulous 50!!!

Weasel, I may be having a senior moment, or just being distracted, are you sticking around ME for your vacation, or are you taking off? A week off sounds wonderful.

Non, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Maybe turn the unused meds in to your doctor or pharmacy for disposal? Taking prescription meds scares me. Don't blame you.

Stick with the bus if you are struggling. The good people here have helped me get through some rough spots but I had to SAY I was having trouble, BEFORE it got to be too much. We're here.

Wow, Weasel - off until June 1? That's awesome! Do you have any plans, trips, ideas, etc? Or are you just going to kind of "go with the flow" and get some major relaxation in at home with the cats? I'd imagine it's a beautiful time of year to be out and about in nature in your area.

Nons, sorry to hear about the surgery. You sound like you're well aware of the Vicodin dangers and are being responsible - well done. Hope you're feeling better soon, that can't have been a fun experience.

Can't wait for the long weekend! Have some tentative plans, but keeping things open for now, always a good thing.

Welp ~

We're clambering onto the Bus, and we've [mostly] stopped Drinking. So, I'm thinkin' we could combine those words, and call ourselves 'Bus Stoppers'! The Good News is the same as the Bad News: that's the best idea I've had all week! Time to refill my Java...

The Smartest Dog In The World busted the unusual move of nosing me on the Shoulder about 4 A.M.. I'm thinkin' 'Oh, he's trying to have me let him out'. I fell back asleep. I woke up a few hours later to hurling sounds as a Tennis Ball Cover from the Dog Park again saw the light of Day. The lil sneak somehow decimates Tennis Balls when I'm not watching. Not like it takes a great deal to divert me in Old Age these days...

Rain and more Rain here for another day or so. Like living in Seattle w/o the Airfare. Between Squalls, I'm hauling old Paint Cans and Batteries to the authorized Recycle Center today. Da Wife is some Gal Pal's 'Date' tonight while said Pal gets some Tech Award for General Brilliance In Her Field. Me, I'll be hangin' at a local Joint for some Dry Rub Chicken Wings I've taken a fancy to. They're cheep before 6 P.M..

Thinking of DOCs like Vicodin, I took a bunch of prescribed Oxy after Rotator Cuff Surgery. Never could understand what all the excitement was about. Nasty stuff, IMO.

Contract arrived .
found out if i put 7% into my pension the company will put in another 14% on top .. I'm stunned, although the top line isn't as good as i had before the fringe benefits of this job seem to make up for it ..
26 days leave rising to 30 , plus the 8 bank holidays

doing my paperwork now , then will be off up north to view the house again tomorrow .

He's the one with a job or two. I'm still out of work almost 18 months.

Now if everyone in America would send me only ten cents.

Can you spare a dime for me? Just a lousy dime? Everyone.

Mec, that is a sweet deal. Very favorable. Enjoy the trip.

A few musings. I stopped at a local convenience store for coffee and noticed the center aisle piled high and somewhat obstructed with cases of beer. More than normal. Drove by the liquor store where the beer truck was standing with numerous pallets of beer blocking the walkway. If I weren't an alcoholic I may not have noticed. But since I am, I did. Yes, Weasel's comment that it's the start of the summer drinking season is apt. Holy cow it was a lot.
