Also, we discussed some scientifically based relaxation audio, and guided meditations, as well as some natural supplementation for awhile and incorporating exercise (I already have a very healthy diet....altough I'm sure it will be a lot better without the daily infusion of vodka).

I'm sorry you're still struggling but I'm glad you're back windancer.

My advice is try everything - really give it your all - allow yourself no 'buts'.
This is, truly, life and death.

D

Welcome back, Windancer! The 12 steps, in addition to therapy and some outside service work, etc., have been what's worked for me. I'm 31 now and got sober at 29, so we're about the same age. I tried to quit drinking on and off for 10 years, but it wasn't until 29 that I actually tried to get sober. For me, there was a major difference between quitting drinking and getting sober, and I have fully surrendering to the 12 steps to thank for that.

You got this!

I agree with the "tried to quit drinking" part. Been there done that lol. Now is THE TIME to get, and live sober.

I have been to a few meetings now and have a sponsor who seems to be a good fit for me. She lives nearby and helps me get to more meetings.
