It happened just like the doctor said it might

I didn't drink but i felt like i wanted to for the first time in 16 days. the doc said i would happen when multiple triggers are happening at the same time. i felt like drinking last night because i was tired, hungry, shopping at the mall and not finding any good clothes, plus i wasn't clickinking with my girlfriend from the moment she picked me up (lost my license a couple weeks ago) and the way she drives makes me uncomfortable, heavy on the gas and the brakes. I'm feeling better and learned the easy way, i didn't drink.

Great job on pushing through!!

Dealing with the challenges of life is the real battle in Sobriety, if we can do that, we're on our way, life will still through a few curve balls, but with alcohol off the table, we need a new set of tools in the toolbox!!

I had a crazy week, too, Dan. I didn't think of drinking, but I did smoke cigs, which I am attempting to quit now and was doing OK with......car problem, computer crashing, etc....

Life shows up. How we deal with it is up to us.

Glad you didn't drink!!!!!!

Thanks all, yeah it felt like some alcohol would have solved everything, and i would have truely felt better, but imagine how healthy drinking when you are tired and hungry, then going off on a binge and not eating for another day or so. I'm back to thinking that drinking makes me feel ill just thinking about it, I'm happy and energized now, Thanks!

Glad you didn't drink and thanks for being honest enough to come in here and tell us your thoughts/cravings. Hearing about others struggles and triumphs helps me stay sober today and reminds me of the situations I need to avoid in early sobriety.

Sounds like you know HALT... Good for you not drinking!!

I had almost the exact same night as you. We had a crazy week at work and closed down the mall looking for shoes. I hate shopping. I was starting to mentally shut down. But the beauty is: the longer you are sober, the less all that stuff affects you!
