I'm in Pain

I have been sober for a few months. Right now I am in so much pain in my hands, neck and back, and I use my hands at work so I need them. I use alcohol to sleep so that I can try to function the next day. I don't do well with pain medication as they are too powerful. Thank you for any advice.

I don't use alcohol anymore. Just chamomile tea. :-)

I deal with chronic pain too. Alcohol's not very effective for pain relief, as you probably know

You'll also find if you use it long enough it's not great for sleeping either - you may pass out, but you'll be snapped awake at 3am or something and not be able to get back to sleep.

Find a good pain management Dr - one who'll investigate non narcotic pain relief with you.

It can take some looking, but they are out there

D

Alcohol is not a great way forward, checking out a Dr for some alternatives may be the best solution!!

Have you looked into a TEN's machine?

There are other non drug therapies available too.

I'm a bad sleeper at times and I have been watching hypnotherapy films on you tube before I go to sleep.
I did notice there was one for chronic pain.
If you go on you tube and search sleep hypnosis pain then it should come up.
There are other one's for depression and anxiety too. So if you can't find that one, find those and look at the recommendations with those.
I have mine playing as I'm going to sleep.

Do you have a diagnosis as to why you have pain?
If you have, maybe look for a forum connected to the disease or type of pain?
There maybe lots of idea's there?

I wish you the best xx
