Another reason i wanna Drink Again My father had another stroke last night :( mom had to wake me to get him up. That's no problem; but he's 6'4 200 & w\ my back I can barely move today to get things down I need to. My karma seems so funked I must have been a serial killer in a previous life. Looking at my xanax all I keep thinking is a beer would was them down so well *sigh* Dennis |
You know as well as I do that drinking won't make the situation any better. It will only make things worse. :( |
We all have bad stuff we have to deal with. Drinking makes the bad stuff 1000 times worse. |
I am sorry about your Dad, AW; I hope he will be okay. Don't drink, AW; it won't make anything better. |
Sorry to hear about your father. Wanting to drink and drinking are 2 completely different things...one is a thought and the other is an action. You can't control the thoughts from cropping up, but you can control your reaction. Please don't make everything worse for you and your family by drinking. |

AW- so sorry to hear about your father. I'll keep him in my thoughts. Is there something you could take for your back? Even if it's just a nice, long, hot bath, it might help! |
I'm sorry about your dad. And your back. And ditto what Scott said. When I feel like nothing is going right, and everything is going horribly wrong, I feel like drinking. But, I don't. Drinking won't make anything better. If you don't drink you can be there for your mom and dad. A source of comfort and strength. Drunk? Can't do anything. |

I have no idea if it would work for you or not, but i've been discussing mindfulness and meditation with my therapist and he said it's even being used in pain management pretty regularly now. It doesn't really cost anything other than time. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Sober Recovery |
Very sorry to hear about your dad!! :( |
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad Dennis. Don't drink tho - this is not Karma, or the universe being mad at you...or even your Dad. Bad things sometimes happen to good people. Drinking changes nothing except it will makes things worse. D |
I'm soo sorry to hear about your dad!! We are here for you, just talk to us! Like someone said wanting to drink and actually picking up are two different things!! Don't do it!! <<<HUGS>>> |

I'm not sure it's healthy or right to blame yourself Dennis. D |

Try harder ;) D |
It's hard trying to take care of yourself, your recovery, and your father. You're human, and humans make mistakes. I'm sure you're doing the best you can. No need to blame anyone! It's just life. |
