Sao.... So you describe getting better at watching this young lady for your whole run. There is a joke in there but I will let it alone.
PERV POWER! very motivational
Hang in there Bernie
Email from daughter, she has hired a Hyundai Accent for this week while she looks for something to buy (she doesn't think much of it but it is newish and cheap). Shame she can't save some money and car share or something

Indeed Zab
Went to the Red Market, a evening food market. I forgot we are in season, I bought 6 Maldon Oysters for £2:40 - bargain. I cover them with ginger, wine vinegar, flat leaf parsley and tiny slivers of birds eye chilli. Yes Please
Hope everyone is doing OK today

Oh, Saoutchik, those sound wonderful! That is a bargain.
Bernie, hugs, Hang in there. We can do it.
I'm facing the aftermath. Anger hangovers are almost as bad as the alcohol version. And he owes someone and he bought four packs of cigarettes for some guy at work and has to replace them. That's $40 dollars right there. Twice what he paid for them. Indiana is half the price.
Kids hungry. Have to feed them. I'm going to stop talking about husband and focus on more positive things.

Had a great workout at the gym, went grocery shopping, now bunkering down for Game 7 Clippers-Rockets later this afternoon. Will head to my girl's place this evening. Good structure, haven't felt any temptation. My latest pattern is getting tripped up in the 30-35 day range, having a bad one night binge, then telling myself never again, feeling fine for a few weeks, then just caving. This is a pattern I am going to break for good this time.

Beautiful pic, Weas. Has a mournful, somber, cozy and peaceful feel all at the same time.
Happy Sunday folks. Another bright and beautiful day down here on the upper side of the Central American Isthmus. Did some gardening up on the terrace this morning, found some occupants for my lone empty earthenware pot - a few extra vines and flowering shrubs that were mis-matched "side garnish" in other pots needed a home. Worked up a sweat!
Like many here, I have haunting memories of "Aftermath Sundays". Damage control. Hiding out. Fearing tomorrow. Self loathing. The list goes on and on. Today we wake up without regrets! One less suitcase to carry as we make our way through this world.
Bought 2lbs of fresh Pacific shrimp straight from Puerto Quetzal yesterday. Mind you, this 2lbs includes shells, heads, eyeballs, antennae, the whole 9 yards. Made a bunch right when I got home yesterday and will sautee up the rest for lunch, gotta eat 'em quick! The taste is so much better than the store-bought farmed stuff, really happy I went to the fishmonger and got the real stuff. Looking forward to stuffing my face with shrimp, salad, and fried plantains as I watch the MLB ball games today and relax. Great sharing my adventures and hearing about all of yours on this wonderful weekend.

Somehow I made myself mow a reasonable portion of the yard today before 2 PM. On a hangover day I would still be lying in bed, almost ready to get up but not quite. I also dealt with some weeds on top of the shed so they won't proliferate into my neighbor's yard.
I think a shower and a short nap are next, then a lunch involving a breaded catfish fillet, mushroom soup and peas.

Back home after lunch on the rocks... sounds like a song but just relaxing while listening to the waves crash.
Thanks BigS. It is a moody pic.
My friend ran the freedom tower run today. Up 96 flights of stairs at the world trade center in NYC. He did a good time. 34 minutes. I could not do it. He raised some nice $$ for the cause.
All the fixings for the grilling have come together in once peaceful place. My fridge. Time to relax for the remainder of the day on the balcony.
Read what you all have been doing.

I had a chicken tostada for breakfast because I can and because I have been eating too much SatFat lately and not enough vegetables. So easy to do. It was delish.
Today I've already washed the sheets and cleaned up the kitchen and fed the cats and read all your posts.
Ruby, you are a good woman.
If anyone ever sees a cypress knee lamp at a garage sale/estate sale , buy it and I'll pay you plus shipping. I grew up in Florida and I want one.
Hm - I guess I could buy one online. I want a fancy one, though, with several "knees" and a cool shade.
Never mind, obviously I have specific qualifiers. I'll keep looking
Cats: I used to volunteer at the shelter and boy did I learn how easily they are over-stimulated. Many a scratched-hand. All of a cat's play behavior seems to be really redirected hunting. I think the best thing I've learned is to not ever engage in "play" with my hands. Especially kittens. I always use a toy when trying to "play."
My full grown cats get scolded when they get bitey. I'm not sure you can stop them from that, but it does help to know the signs. Cats are hard for kids because of that. Once the cat senses fear, it's on; and the instinct for humans is to pull our hand away, which just triggers the prey instinct for the cat.
Dogs are so much more agreeable.
Speaking of redirected. I got that Redirect Virus and spent some time this morning cleaning up my computer. Ugh. Victory, though.

Happy lazy Sunday afternoon gang.
I had a nice looong workout this morning. That's a luxury of no-hangover weekends. I'm gonna get my favorite float and chill in the pool while I digest the nice lunch we had. I like to stay a little more lean in the summer season, so a run is on the agenda for late afternoon. I may do a little paperwork to get a jump start on the week as well....only if I feel like it.
Looks like a nice Sunday afternoon is being enjoyed by many of you. Hang in there if you're struggling today.

Listening to golden oldies on my ipod (oxymoronic?) I grew up in Detroit back when the Motown Sound was going on...love it! And I am cleaning the house, vacuuming, scrubbing the floor, dusting...blah!

Happy Sunday Sober Enders!!
Lazy day here. Tired from my looong walk yesterday. But I will take a short stroll to the garden...can't let Weasel win with that large of a margin.
I went to the local street fair yesterday....walked to the local street fair yesterday. It was fun, good music and the food smelled great. Didn't buy anything until the way out when I found a couple of street poets. Gave them a few dollars to write a poem about my dog. I have to say it is the very best thing I have ever purchased at a street fair!
I hope you have a better day today, Ruby. You know how much this tribe loves you and we are all in your corner!
Be well people...will check in later!

Sober Sunday - watched the last stage of the Tour of California and it was soooo exciting! I'm not feeling all that great today. The sun is trying to come out after a couple of days of rain, so I am motivated to go take a walk.
