Hi everyone! Newbie here!
Part 1 of Introduction:
Not sure where to start, I have like 200 different topics I could start off with, but I am just gonna start off with 1 randomly picked out of my head.
So I was googling online how to get help with my drinking "online" because I have a fear of leaving my property. I came across this site and decided to give it a try.
I really enjoyed the automatic private message from the staff/owner or something. I thought it was very nice, warm and welcoming. I thought that so much that I clicked "reply" and wrote a very nice "Thank you" reply, only to receive a notification warning that I "could not send a private message unless I make 5 posts first, or something like that. So needless to say, my second impression of the site, ( 1st being my new private MSG that made me feel very comforting), is that I felt forced to make 5 posts as a newbie, in order to be able to "reply' to that warm and caring first private message I received.
Sorry to be so harsh, but like I said,, "Not sure where to start,".
Now I feel like I will never make it past 4 more posts, (if this one counts), will take a very long time just so I can respond to my very first private message that welcomed me and I soo much wanted to thank.
So nice to find this site,, I want to say "Hey, nice to meet you all", up front. I am a shy person most of the time, but I am just gonna throw it out there of why I am here.

? Why is this "Title" blank if I am only replying to Post?
Post #2:
I am here because I need help from the virtual friends that are going through what I am. I am thankful I found this site while googling, lol.
So I have an "enabler", that makes it very hard to quit. I have been wanting to for over 5 years now, but my "enabler" is not.
I don't want to go into details just yet as I am new here, but I did want to at least stop in and wave at you all with a smile.

Hi Luvmyshepsky - welcome
With a site this size (and a tremendous member database) we're a prime target for spam and spammers.
It actually doesn't take long to make 5 posts at all. Most people manage it in their first visit.
I hope you'll understand that this little inconvenience is worth you and all our members feeling safe and protected here.

It may make things a little harder, but not impossible.
Your journey is yours and you really can get and stay sober regardless of what someone else in your life does.
There's a great deal of support here

But if it took 3 days, then I am sure "someone" took the time to see if I was legit. If someone took 3 days to "approve" me, then they know I am legit, so why the "5 posts" and "The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 15 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."
I am legit,,,,
I'm not sure why it took 3 days.
Pretty much all you need to do is confirm your email address.
We don't vet people. The stream of new members is simply too big for us to do that.
The edit window for everyone is 15 minutes.
I'm just glad you're here now

Welcome to the forum LMShepsky!
The deflated balls are a huddle. Like a football huddle or a group hug. Deflated balls. That is funny.
You have come to the right place to get great support. My suggestion is to read as much as you can and post any and all questions.
Your husband drinks beer as well?
