You must believe that you are worth it and you must keep on trying. This disease is relentless so you must continue to work on recovery. You can do this!

You posted, QuietHero - that means everything. You're not giving up on yourself, and we aren't either. Let's try this again.

It took me a lot of failed attempts to finally 'get it'. But I didn't give up, I kept trying until I succeeded. Don't give up.

Hang in there. It doesn't always click on the first try. The important part is that you don't give up.

I wouldn't use the word failed. It took me many years to quit successfully

What have you been doing for your recovery QT? can you do more?

Quiet,
You're not a failure, but your method failed you this time. Can you identify the things that tripped you up this time and build an approach that addresses the gaps?

I had to do this several times. I was stubborn and tried to do it alone. I didn't use resources like recovery groups and SR. I didn't talk to people who had both tried and failed and try to learn from their experiences. In the end, I did learn enough from my own experiences that I did reach out to others and built a plan that worked. You can do this.

Hi Quiethero. I think that if you truly want to quit drinking then you can do it. Obviously it's not easy though. I wish you the best of luck and you can do it.
