Tuesday morning

I feel like I am whining more than I should be, but the anxiety is really getting to me today at work. I'm on edge and can feel my heart thumping in my chest. I gotta keep moving forward though. I know beer won't solve this problem. In fact my AV finally shut up late yesterday afternoon. He'll be back though. Anyway, I know that it just takes time. I'm only on day 14 this time around. Still taking it minute by minute each day.

Hang in there LS. You're doing great. Fourteen days already. Deep breaths.

Congrats on two weeks. You're on your way!

hang in there! have you tried meditating at all? I find it kind of hard, but even if I can do it for 3-5 minutes it seems to help me when I get anxious or agitated

I found it helpful to take deep breaths, sit up straight and relax my shoulders and close my eyes. Even for just a few minutes.

You can do it! 14 days is great.

Congrats on day 14. You are one day closer to having a clear mind, healthy body and content spirit!

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling slightly better now. I go up and down the anxiety roller coaster most days at work.

site1Q84, I've tried meditation in the past for various reasons, but never felt that I was doing it properly. I haven't tried it to help with sobriety yet. I need to do a little research about it and give it a try no doubt.

Day 14 is great. I'm glad you're aware of your AV.

Hi LS,

I was not into meditation and such, but my emotions really got out of hand. I found that - real meditation for real alcoholics - worked for me. The guys writing is difficult but there are audio exercises/examples.

I've been doing the "guided" meditation videos on youtube.. sometimes they're helpful and sometimes they seem to distract me. They may work for you though!
