New here, trying to stay sober...again

Hi,
I am new here and just want to reach out. I am on day 8 and struggling. I have no desire to drink, I have cravings, but no desire. I am ready to sit in my crap sober if it means this will get better. I'm having terrible intrusive thoughts about my kids watch me die, about that it's probably too late for me, that I've probably injured myself beyond repair. And that it even if I do that sober I will still be miserable. I know I sound crazy, it probably has something to do with the fact that I am. At least at this point. I am trying to find some hope. A little something to hang on to. Thanks for letting me rant....

Welcome. Rant away. I do and it helps. Congrats on day 8. I wish I had more wonderful insight for you but I'm starting my journey too. This place is a positive platform.

You don't sound crazy. I had thoughts like that too in the early days. There is so much emotion and so much stuff to deal with, it's a really hard time. We do understand.

Welcome! This is a great place for rants I think we've all been there at least once, if not a few more times than that...

As long as you're breathing, it's not too late. Just don't go back to drinking or you'll undo the good you're doing for yourself.

Thanks for understanding, guys. I really feel like I am losing my mind! I am still rocking 5 min. at a time. 24 hours is too much...

You got this! I am new here too and only on day 1 but I am excited to wake up tomorrow not feeling crappy/hungover for work! I am also not going to miss the annoying amount of times I usually wake up every night while drinking! 5 minutes at a time is a great idea!

Glad you are here lScotty....know that you are not alone in this! Things do get better as long as we don't pick up that drink!

Welcome back Lscotty

Those fears are all very common. I think you'll find like I did that there's no basis to them at all

Be Patient and Take Help From A Reputed Addiction treatment center

Your problem is really a serious one and being a family person it gets difficult to struggle in front of family. Try to involve yourself with family and make yourself busy most of the time. Also I will suggest you to find a best addiction treatment center with proven record. Search over internet, it is full of such kind of information.
Hope For the best.
