Thanks!

No, no running planned for today--it's too cold outside.
*I made this account when I was in CA so I used to run all of the time in the beautiful weather--now, I'm temporarily in GA and I don't fair well in cold weather; let alone run in it. Lol. The sun should be out later this week so I may go for a run then...

I hear you. I'm in PA ... I also hate to be cold. I'm looking forward to longer days and some weekday running when it isn't frigid. I bought a road bike last year and am doing my first century ride This summer. Can't wait to hit the road instead of a studio bike.

Welcome back! I post on a tread twice daily to keep me on track and it's a great tool. Congratulations on day 2 and keep that momentum going!

Thank you! That's what I was thinking about doing--making myself post in the morning and afternoon.

Thank you! I feel all goes well until Day 3... Usually around Day 3 or 4 boredom starts to kick in and I end of drinking wine (unless I have somewhere to go that evening and/or have something significant to do the next day...not including work.)

I knew someone would say that...

I'm trying to think of something to do because I can't afford to do anything / go anywhere that interests me. So, I'll have to do something that's free 'and' at home... Which usually isn't much which is why I tend to get bored around Day 3 or 4.

I'll keep thinking, and will definitely post tomorrow.

Hi SL,

Yes, I love to read (and listen to podcasts and you tube videos). I'm actually reading an online article right now...

Do you have a gym membership? They are about the same cost as 2 or 3 bottles of wine. I know - treadmills are not as great as being outside, but it would keep you busy for an hour or two in the early evening.

No, I don't have a gym membership. I'll look into it! It would definitely be a good way to spend 2-3 hrs after work. Plus, they opened two new gyms less than 5mi from my house.

*I was going to say I can't afford a gym membership but you're right--if I stop buying wine I can.

yep--put that wine budget into some yoga classes or gym membership
for trigger times if only for a few months.

funny how we have money to drink on but are too broke for helping ourselves
I did this so many times--but yoga really helps

Agreed! At least I'm (finally) starting to catch myself make those silly excuses these days.

Day 3...

Today is my first day back to work (after a long weekend) so it's always a trigger. Also, my job stresses me out and I tend to look to wine for relaxation... I need a new de-stress routine! I can't sign up for the gym until the end of this month (e.g. Pay day) so I need to get creative for the next two weeks. It looks like it'll be a bit warmer this week so maybe I'll go running.

Hi there, good for making it to day 3. I am sort of on day 1. again. I find running really helps, i did a lot of it before but due to drinking I am in a poor shape and really need to get started again. I am guessing by your alias you have a history in ruuning too? Good luck and stay sober!
