Did anyone else get sick often in early sobriety?

Did anyone else get sick often in early sobriety?

I've been sick twice since I quit drinking six weeks ago, which is uncommon for me. Could it be that my system is so screwed up from regular drinking over the years that it doesn't recognize a healthy lifestyle...?

I was constantly sick in early sobriety. Colds, and sinus infections, and fatigue , strep throat twice. I don't mean to freak you out, but I do believe it was my bodies suppressed immune system cleaning itself out. Plus , I quit alcohol and drugs and cigs at the same time so it was a lot at once

Not sick perse, but ended up with hypoglycemia that I now must control every day. Your system will adjust and get through. Your brain and system are literally rewiring.

It's not uncommon - I think our mind and body take a real beating when addiction is running rampant.

take care of yourself and go easy for a day or two.

See you Dr if you're concerned :)

I was sick while drinking more. But, when I quit smoking I had several colds. The body seems to know what to do when we give it what it needs.

I seemed to get sick more often when early in sobriety however, I've been sick more often with a greater variety of junk this past six weeks than I can remember ever. There's also just a lot of junk going around right now. Rest and plenty of fluids! Feel better.
