The face of addiction

Why am I posting this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3tiz7oyX5A

...Because this is the secret me. Alcohol for me is a swim in polluted waters, full of snakes from the past and crocodiles ready to snap at my heels..

My gift of self is raped.

Everyone that knows me...on a superficial level....my work collegues, my 'friends' from my clubs/activities.....know me as King who is fit, strong and healthy. Nobody knows my addiction secret....

Nobody that is apart from my family. Oh they know. They know the darkness that resides in the King's skin. They know my demons. They've seen them. It's probably why we are not close. It's probably why we don't stay in touch. It's probably why I feel a nagging sensation inside me that won't let me rest. It's probably why I can't settle myself....It calls, I tell it to fvck off...but it won't...

My family and my ex'es. They've seen the dark side. Get close to the King and he will hurt you. Like you won't believe. I made you feel so good, didn't I? You weren't expecting the bad....

******* split personality. I need a solution...

my family don't seem too familiar and my enemies all know my name, if you hear a tap on your window...you better get on your knees and pray. This is panic.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhc1LB_0auM

Panic is on the way.

I have found the neuroscience of addiction useful. Good luck fighting your demons.

split personality. I need a solution...
One evening, an elderly
cherokee brave told his
grandson about a battle that
goes on inside people.

he said "my son, the battle is
between two 'wolves' inside us all.
one is evil. it is anger,
envy, jealousy, sorrow,
regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.

the other is good.
it is joy, peace love, hope serenity,
humility, kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity,
truth, compassion and faith."

the grandson though about
it for a minute and then asked
his grandfather:

"which wolf wins?..."

the old cherokee simply replied,
"the one that you feed"

That's actually good that wolf analogy...I like it.

I can work on keeping the white wolf alive and strong by continually repeating positive actions on a consistent basis..

Alcohol? I can just say no I'll just be feeding the black wolk, bringing it back from the dead.

I can resonate. If wanted, here's what my ex sent me on the way out, once it was apparent we'll no longer be in each other's lives.

Hang in there, and it gets better (so I've been told). 3am here, so time for sleep. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with a proper reply for you tomorrow. All the best though.
