Got some AV and cravings

I have not had cravings or AV messing with me in a long time. I've been sober since July 20th, 2013. On my way home from work I sure wanted a Stout. I was a craft beer connoisseur and I almost caved. It was very scary. I decided to come on here to read some stories from others to get my mind cleared. I'm going to pack up my stuff and be ready to go camping for a one nighter tomorrow. If I sit home and dwell on things I might drink. Wish me luck and thanks for reading.

Hang tough, tnman; those cravings will pass and the AV will give up its fight.

Enjoy the camping trip!!!!

Glad you thought to come back here!

Camping sounds like a great way to spend the weekend. Jealous!

I think we;re sometimes conditioned to think that thinking of drinking is a catastrophe in the making.

The fact is I think most of us have occasional thoughts , especially in the first couple of years - it's what we do with those thoughts that really counts.

You dismissed the thought, and you're being proactive in changing your routine.

I think thats a win TnMan :)

Enjoy the trip!

Thanks all, spent several hours packing and loaded up my car. Cut some firewood and I'm ready for bed. Leaving early am for a two hour drive to the mountains. Cravings passed because I got busy and I really appreciate this forum and everyone. Good night.

I had a nightmare the other night where I was out drinking! That was it! Very realistic and completely drunk.. in a nightmare. I woke up feeling so incredibly guilty! Glad it was just a nightmare but it shows you what's been on my brain lately I guess. Hoping this too shall pass. I guess we're all going to think about it and it all comes down to the choices we make.

Drinking dreams are pretty common, 60.

I had my share - I figured as long as I wasn't drinking when I was awake it was all good...and it has been :)
