Going cold turkey tomorrow.. Wish me luck..!

Yes..have been drinking again for a few weeks.can't take it anymore. Feel sick and tired..husband had enough..been to doctors and got anti sickness tablets..that's all she can do until I see my counsellor in 10 days. Can't wait that long, so am going for it. Die or die trying as they say x.

angel70, good luck, remember we are here and don't be afraid to go to the ER if you feel the need. They will take care of you.

I'm glad you talked to your dr about your plan and it's good that you are planning to see a counsellor. I hope you keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Angel,

Did you tell your doctor that you intended to quit? Sometimes they prescribe additional med for such things as anxiety etc

Either way you have made the right decision

Good luck

I thought the Dr would help with WD not just anti sickness

Going cold turkey can be extremely dangerous if you start to feel worse got to the ER or A&E

Sending strenght & love

GP has more or less told me she thinks its a bad idea but given me lots of emergency numbers to call. Hubby had enough..is huffing about not really talking to i me. Handed in my notice at work this week du3 to over a year of ill health. Not a good week and seriously need to make massive chànges. On a side note hubby going food shopping tomorrow..any idea what might help xx

Good luck! You can do it. I just got thru a massive craving but now it's gone. As long as we don't drink those cravings will slowly disappear. I'm only 7 days out from my last drink so we can do this together!

Hi angel, if your husband is going food shopping have him buy all the things you like to eat. Many of us have been through the withdrawal process and it is not fun, but can be done. EAT and drink. Obviously if you start to have issues, see a doctor. I will tell you first hand that eating and drinking water, Gatorade or even pedia-lite will help. Not knowing how serious your issue is, I've offered what worked for myself and others. detox and rehab are other options if you need them. It may save your life. I wish you the very best.
