Hey there C, hang in there, you're doing good. I have found that if I try to supress the thoughts, that it gets worse. I let them in, but I do not hang onto it. The thoughts/emotions come, I acknowledge them and I let them go. They then pass relatively quickly and it does not eat me away. Not sure if that makes sense? I got it from a book called - real meditation for real alcoholics.

Zab,I need to check that book out. Suppressing the thoughts really doesn't work for me either so I like the idea of acknowledging them and letting them go.

Day 4 complete! Mood's better, no cravings, no pity party. Feeling grateful, loved and appreciated. This up and down is such a roller coaster, but maybe I'm on track I hope it lasts

That's really some good news that you seem to be over the physical part.
How are you doing today?

Good for you! The cravings I always know to expect, but the mood swings catch me off guard sometimes!

Maybe too good, my AV is really talking to me today. Saying that wasn't so bad and then when I get upset it is once again my first thought

You AV is an idiot, ignore it and it will eventually shut up.
If it was not that bad, it would not have taken you over two months to get 4 days sober and you would not have been detoxing like that.
Look up guided meditations or relaxations on Youtube, it could really be helpful

Day 5 complete! Feeling good...... all in all a good day! Although, last night was tough, huge anxiety attack at 3 am. I had my moments of weakness today, but they were only moments. I feel almost normal again, at least "my" normal. I got to keep this going.

Day 6! Almost have a week. Feeling pretty good. I am ready to put all the drinking behind me and this time it's because I want to, not because I have to

You're doing it girl, one day at a time (sometimes one hour at a time) and it will keep getting easier.

I think the reason I'm saying it wasn't that bad is because I didn't get caught at work or by family, I didn't end up in jail, wreck my car or lose my job or life. But luckily I realized that it would just be a matter of time before all of that would start once again and that I still had an opportunity to get back on track without any serious consequences.

I think you are doing awesome. Doing this by yourself is terribly hard. And guess what, you are doing it! Anxiety WILL pass, time is your friend. The more that passes the better it gets. Keep it up!

You couldn't be more right about that post. Everything is fine, it really is.......no one is hurt, your at home, nothing bad has happened. That must feel excellent!
