Also, I strongly suspect that my girls are getting me the original Nintendo and Mario Bros game for Mothers' Day. I cannot even begin to admit how excited I am!

Last year for Mother's Day, I graduated college the day before, so I was quite hungover. BAD! It'll be nice to be alert, sober, and present for the day instead of faking it and praying for the time I can go to bed.

A lot really can change in a year.
My husband I played mario 3 last weekend. It's so much fun (and frustrating) have fun. The nostalgia is almost overwelming.

Saturday morning. Dog is making them those long yawning sounds trying to get everyone up.
I've got 10 mins in bed before kids come crashing in.

I like the sober weekends - it's like a great secret club I'm part of.

My friend is manic depressive. I want to tell him to give up the meds and try something else.. Seems unhelpful though so I haven't. He also likes to drink

Free2b84...Nothing wrong with indulging in some tasty non alcoholic drinks. I look forward to a tall glass of lemonade mixed with seltzer or just plain water. Or cranberry juice mixed with seltzer. With mint sprigs. It feels like a treat to me.

OK now I am ready to say that I'm in. Thank goodness for the regular bus service around here.

I reckon I'll survive if I don't drink tonight or this weekend.

Too bad about Blue Bell Ice Cream stopping production, though ...

Greetings to everyone who has climbed aboard today

"Weekenders sans benders" Lol MesaMan

Behan -you'll be needing a non moving, almost statue like bass player (say Bill Wyman only without the 13 year old girlfriend). That would be me on my Columbus (copy)

We have a new Prime Minister in the UK, the 19th from the same private school. He has recently seen our Head of State who inherited the position from her dad.

It's great living in a modern country

I just had a MASSIVE craving that lasted for about 30 minutes. I was seriously thinking about drinking for a while but I tried to challenge my AV by reminding it how miserable I would be late tonite, tomorrow and several days after if I drank. Fridays are HARD! :-/

Stay strong SD. They are all lies and it cannot get what it wants unless you give it to him. You dont need to. You have the control. No one else or no ignorant AV.

Good work at sitting through the craving. They DO END.

Serenidad, way to get through the craving. They do pass. Distract yourself. Anything but. How about throwing in a load of laundry? That always helped me.

Solarion, I usually eat my ice cream before bed but today, I just had some. Ben & Jerry's?

I'm laying on the couch at home. Friday afternoon TV is worse than Saturday night TV. This stupid cold will just not go away. Done at work so came home. Will close eyes. My mom getting kids at school so I'm off the hook until 5:30ish.

Glad to hear that you are home and resting, ruby.
I'm at work biding my time....about 4 more hours.
I have no plans for the weekend. ..which is weird. Rented Selma for tonight. Farmers Market tomorrow morning probably. Then REI...errands. ..
I love weekends!

Sorry to hear that Scarlet Witch but you are still sober. Please keep posting.

Well done Serenidad

Weekend starts very soon Ruby, hope you feel better by then

I've sort of been stood up tonight but it has given me a chance to go through some paperwork (what happened to the paperless society)

Turns out I have won a prize in some charity raffle which I barely remember entering - wine vouchers! Ah well, it is my son in laws birthday soon.

Only 3 hours to go now HaF

I know nothing about birds but I saw the most beautiful black and bright yellow bird yesterday. I was going to take a picture but it took off on me

Have to work tomorrow, but looking forward to my first sober weekend! I almost made it through last week, but the past is past.

Went to an all women's meeting today and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be!

Wow all under ten posts... so new and so welcome to join in our weekend fun.

This thread is here because for us weekends are a tough time. But as you hang out you will see that living sober does not have to be boring!

Glad you are here. Post all you want! Check in often as this is your first weekend.

Ken
There is so much opportunity on the weekends to do things now. Before I was too afraid to pretty much leave my house on the weekend. The world feels open now.

Once I quit drinking the world stopped shrinking. I didn't drink when i was out of the house.

Saoutchik, great birthday present for the son in law. How do you get sort of stood up? I'm sorry.

Thunderstorm at the moment. My mother took the two children to jump and fun after school and sent a text as I type this. Something about going out for dinner. I'm up for that. I'll have to check that text.

Hi everyone hope you don't mind me stopping by. It's storming by me as well. My fellow commuters are winding down the day with beers and glasses of wine on the train. It's hard to resist on days like today but I'm posting on here instead of waiting in line at the shop.

How is everyone else's Friday going? Only an hour and a half until I'm home and in my sober haven reading a book in bed!
