Do you expect this site and its members to say, "Go for it?"

Whatever.

I think you are using the physical withdrawal as an excuse to keep going. If you wanted to you could go get help. I am calling your AV out.

Nailed it! Most of us have had varying degrees of physical withdrawal. Yes it sucks and if you're worried about it then go to the ER and detox at the hospital. You've done it before and you can do it again. Get back on the right track and get back to living again.

I think dealing with the physical discomfort of withdrawal is a whole safer than dealing with a stroke, heart attack, alcohol related injury, or choking on your own vomit - all real possibilities when you are drinking the quantities that you are. If you are concerned about the physical impact of the withdrawal you need to get to the hospital. ASAP

I lurk on here often and I always found you had excellent advice to give when sober. You stated earlier that you were waiting for some kind of epiphany, but it is so much easier - and realistic - to take the bull by the horns and get yourself some help.

All I can say is I have been following your threads, and have been praying for you often. I think it would be best for you to just go to the ER at this point, and not even consider it or think about it. This is based on my own experience and the experience of some of my drinking buddies who suffered withdrawal. This is serious business right now.

Please be safe and well.

Very good suggestion and since you've done it a number of times, anattaboy, and drank again, inpatient rehab would probably be wise.
I don't think you have to find the want. You've already said in more than one way ya want.I think ya gotta get willing to do whatever it takes to get a d stay sober.

Sittin in the garage all day ain't gonna make ya a car.

Atta
Medical conditions when they exist are best handled by medical professionals. If you sever a major artery could stay right where you are and fashion a tourniquet and hope for the best, but why would you? If sudden cessation of alcohol intake may cause medically necessary action, then get to a place where that type of care is available, because either way to quit you need a sudden cessation.Everything else is an excuse to continue drinking. AV writ large. Sober, you would probably agree . Probably not today though, sorry.
You can stop, when you want.
This started because you decided to get blotto, not only because you wanted to.
Wish you well dude, you gotta do the right thing here to make it work

How are you doing today?
I really hope that you get off the hamster wheel. The longer you keep on drinking, the more suffering you create for yourself and others.

Death from immediate cessation is a very real thing that happens to us older folks that have drank for 10+ yrs. We're not talking about a 16 yr. old or to be real---even one of the twenty-somethings that come here complaining of a bump in the road due to some heavy partying. Are you folks even real?

I was just thinking the same thing. Reading through the comments on this thread...some were pretty harsh....not mentioning names but you'll know when u read them.

There's tough love and then there's kicking a horse when it's already down. :-(

I hope he's ok too.
