Hope you get off this crazy ride soon. Your very familiar with all the options and methods out their so telling you about them won't help. Have some self respect man! You can pull yourself out of this. It gives me pain just reading it cause I know the redundant struggle oh to well. I hope you figure this thing out.
Your posts always made me smile with the unconventional angle you take on things. Maybe you need to come up with a new angle on life.
Get Well!

Hey Anatt, didn't realize you'd been so involved in AA in the past. It seems you know what you gotta do. I'm only 1 month sober so not got much advice to give but 1 thing I will say is if you are so sick again after only a week or two of binging then your body is no longer in the shape it needs to be to take the hammer you're giving it. Don't become one of the bad statistics.

I'm sending you my best wishes and hope you can find the strength to climb back on the horse. I had over 2 years and it took me 3 years to come back properly. I hope it doesn't take you the length of time it took me.

And now you are still bargaining with your addiction - trying to forumlate taper plans, put in a little of this and a little of that, but it's all about your terms.

Maybe you just need to bite the bullet and check into detox for a couple of days. Your way obviously isn't working this time around.

Last beer for awhile--6 since 4am--kind of a tease. Now comes the hard part.

Sobriety can start at anytime, but we have to want it, drinking is not inevitable, we get to make the choice.

With the right support and resources we can make Sobriety happen!!

You can do this!!

It really sounds to me too that you need to check in to detox.

Thanks CF. I've medically detoxed more than once. I've also done it solo more than once. Getting over this hump is do-able either way. Just gotta find my want-to.

I needed an in-patient detox more for emotional reasons than medical. I needed to be "locked up, " away from alcohol.

Wow. I wouldn't want to go through quitting again ever.

Not sure why you continue to want to be miserable and beat yourself up, but I hope you find your way back.

You have the power to save your own life. You have to do it, no one else can do it for you

I for one appreciate your posting because it reminds me of how miserable it was to run out when you wanted more. Can't say I miss those times.

Time for you to do something different my friend. Best wishes.

I don't have much to add to what's already been said, anatta. Just sending my support as always and really hope you find your want-to sooner than later.

I use AA and AVRT simultaneously. You stayed sober for 9 years with AA might be worth another shot

Jump off that crazy train to nowhere, anattaboy. Pour it all out.

Make this the moment you head back to sobriety.

I felt that coming when you only had two beers to last you until 4PM. So you're still digging. Keep us posted, we care, and you matter.

I mean...what real alcoholic does THAT? I may be drinking for a little head change but at this stage of the game it's about being able to function. Are we even from the same planet? I absolutely abhor being physically dependent but this IS a very serious condition. Telling someone to "pour it out" is the most irresponsible thing I've ever heard one alcoholic tell another. Death from immediate cessation is a very real thing that happens to us older folks that have drank for 10+ yrs. We're not talking about a 16 yr. old or to be real---even one of the twenty-somethings that come here complaining of a bump in the road due to some heavy partying. Are you folks even real?

What was your plan going to be if you hadn't caved and gone to the store? There would have been nothing to pour out.
