So no drinking this morning or at work today. The doctor was kind and understanding, he said I was experiencing 'moderate' w/d's. He gave me Librium and Campral. He said he has done this successfully outpatient dozens of times. So now I work on not drinking ever again, and getting into a program. Will do AA this weekend.
Thanks for everything ya'll :-)

This is great news and Librium will help you a lot to detox safely.
Make sure you stay well hydrated too ( Gatorade is cheap and works wonders).
I see you joined the class of May
Also check out urge surfing if it gets a bit rough (link to it is in Anna's post).
I hope you like AA as much as I did. If you have questions about it, you can pm me anytime or ask on this thread (quite a few AA folks on SR).
Keep posting here for support (SR also has a recovery meeting tonight in the chat room at 9pm est I think) and keep us updated.

That's great Amy. Good news about your Doctor being helpful, and you sound like you're feeling positive and are getting a sobriety plan together. As Carlotta said, any AA questions you want to ask, feel free. Sometimes it makes it easier if we have some idea what to expect. Let us know how you get on xx
