I'm back, and I'm trying again

Hey all, just checking in to say I'm back and I'm giving it another go. I started drinking again some time back, dropped off the boards, and the results were predictable, as always.

Going to try to do things a bit differently this time.

Best wishes everyone

Welcome back!

Here's a link to a post I made at 6 months of what I did to get there. Maybe there is something in there that will help.

Welcome back, glad to hear you are giving it another go. You mention you are going to do things differently this time, how so?

Never stop trying Jack. You got this. Get a plan, make changes and don't look back!

Hey Scott, thanks. Well, this time I'm going to try and use some AVRT tools, and also practise urge-surfing when I get cravings.

I'm going to eat more healthy, and cut out sugar - I have a real sweet tooth.

I'm going to blog to keep track of my progress.

I'm going to post regularly on here.

I'm going to be more disciplined about exercise and mediation.

I'm going to read / watch something about sobriety every day.

I'm gonna re-establish contact with old friends who aren't big drinkers.

I'm going to really focus on what I want from life (which alcohol has kept me from achieving)

I'm also going to get some weekly counselling sessions - something I'll be able to afford not spending money on drink all that goes along with that.

And I might learn a musical instrument!

Thanks strategery - I love your profile picture. That's my favourite Peanuts moment, it's in the Easter special. Too good!
