Its day 11 !!!

Its day 11 when did that happen ?

I am in a strange but wonderful place in my head right now. In four years I have managed 11 days sober once before and was literally screaming in my head for an excuse to drink last time. This time I feel different, I still am thinking about alcohol but its different, im different im not desperate, consumed, totally single minded this time. I am not by any way saying im free from my AV but I am valuing sober me before drunk, embarrassing, sloppy me.
The difference I feel is you guys, I didnt have support last time, I didnt admit I had a problem so didnt need help or guidance and look where that got me.
Thank you each and every one of you for your posts, wisdom, baring your souls and allowing me to bare mine without judgement or condemnation. 11 days :c029:

I am not scared which is weird feeling, I was always scared of everthing, being embarrassing, people knowing im a drunk, my husband hating me (he didn't but drink helps with the paranoia doesn't it !!).

I'm typing this for future me to see how far ive come if I feel like im falling and for anyone it may help in any small way whatsoever.

I hope this finds you safe and well. To those who are struggling a big (((hug))) and those who are celebrating a 'massive well done !!'.

Day 11 is a great place to be! It feels great to finally have that dead weight alcoholic off your back, doesn't it? The freedom from despair and shame is something to be very grateful for these days. I am on day 12 and feel like I am ready to take on the world, right after I regain a bit more energy. The fatigue does ease off quickly after quitting completely and eating properly.
