Seeking Peace

Hello, I am a 31 yr old alcoholic that has once again hit bottom. My first and only try at recovery started in 2011 where I went to a 28 day rehab then lives in a recovery home for 9 months after. Everything went great until I moved out and stopped going to meetings as often. I started college Full Time and even though I fell off the wagon not long into my college career, I will be gaining my associates this December. I now live in a very small town with a good friend(non alcoholic) and have no license. I feel stuck and stay in my head way too much. I have tried the one meeting they offer here once to were I was ask at the end by a gentleman that I should not open up and talk about anything that did not pertain to AA while sharing. So needless to say, I have not been back. I am hoping to get support of any kind & advise from like minded alcoholics. I'm very grateful that I googled and came across this site. Thanks for letting me share.

Hi Free2B, and welcome to SR. :)

Yep, definitely share anything & everything you're comfortable with here. No dogmas, no pressures here, just whatever feels right for you. :)

Welcome!

We have a truly supportive community here, so feel free to share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. We do understand how hard this is.

Congratulations on working on your education. Hopefully the associates degree will enable you to get established in a good job.

Thank both of you for the instant support. Im looking around on this site, seeing the different things it offers. I believe I'm already starting to feel a lil better. TY

Now that classes will be finished for the summer and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere without a license, what advise can anyone offer for having summer of not sitting in the house yet staying sober.
