Tough Choice

So I have to make a choice about what group to go to, and I know I need some human support because anytime I've tried to quit on my own I have failed. This is my dilemma.

I have been involved in a High school ministry that meets on Tuesdays and have built some awesome relationship with the, but the support group that would benefit me most meets on Tuesdays.

The group on Tuesday is led by a pastor who is an alcoholic and went to the same school I am going to. Our stories are nearly identical (as far as the struggle goes) and I think this would be really beneficial for me.

The high school group is fairly close and small and me not being there would definitely be noticed. There is a group that meets on Wednesdays I could attend but it isn't led by that same person.

Advice would be appreciated from any Christians who have gone through similar ministry experience, or anyone who can relate at all!

Also, Prayers. As you read this if you pray, pray for me and wisdom.

To clarify - are you talking about AA meetings or some other type of support group? Regardless, I would say try them all and see which ones you like better.

I'm confused too lol.

Are we talking a high school ministry group versus an AA group you really like being on the same night?

Try them both out. I had similar situation and when I went to the recovery group at my church, I was able to connect with other people and ask them what they did other days of the week. Now we do a lot together which has been helpful in more ways than one!

No harm in checking everything out that's available, see which one you like!!

For me the people in groups make all the difference, so until you meet the members you might find that may sway your decision.
