appropriate discussion?

:a108: I have a question. I am new here and I am wondering if it is appropriate to discuss DWI charges and what to expect at court?

No i have seen many people post about that subject. Not to mention their is probably a good bit of experience on that here. I have only been a member for 10 days, but I do not see why it would be a problem.

Welcome!

Have you made any changes in your life since the DWI? Have you stopped drinking?

It might be a good idea to get a lawyer for the court issues.

Welcome bdelbridge. Sorry to hear of your troubles, and it's certainly a topic you can discuss here. And we can definitely help if you seek understanding and support in quitting drinking.

what you can expect depends largely on the specifics of your charges, your BAC, any priors, the mood of the judge and the quality of your representation.

If you can afford an attorney - do it.

Apart from the court process and the consequences - have a read around here, get some insight from those who've come before you (I've had two DWIs) - and ask yourself some very hard and honest questions about this.

It could very well be a wake up call that can change your life for the better.

Welcome aboard bdelbridge! I do not know much on the legal side , but I can tell you that a DWI is just the beginning of several random unfortunate situations you will find yourself in if you keep drinking...Just a side thought ..Good luck with the proceedings...

welcome bdelbridge64 :)

I know nothing about DWI and the law- I agree it's a good idea to get professional legal advice tho :)

If you want to stop drinking you'll find a lot of support here :)
