Hey Top Gear has an opening since the rumored alcoholic Jeremy Clarkston got canned. You could get a scooter and mount a Lamborghini engine on it. I guarantee you will get there faster than walking.

When you are rich and famous we can all say we knew Dee when.

Seriously, I have found that fear is one of my biggest problems. I turn the awfulizer on and construct an appocolptic future that has nothing to do with reality.

Embrace the scooter and you may find your life is better not worse. We just have to accept the things we can not change and be thankful for what we have not what we don't.

Prayers going out to you But I bet you will do great

Isn't it awesome that we live in an age where when our mobility slows down or our joints wear out we can get a fix or a help.

If you need a beanie for wearing on your wheels I'm your knitter Dee.

Glad to know you're taking your own advice!
At least you won't have to worry about a DUI while you're on it.

You are the greatest, Dee. A man in my neighborhood has a scooter. He and his very large dog zoom around every morning and they look like they are having so much fun. He always waves to me, smiling and looking happy . Autonomy is a good thing.

Good to hear your at peace with this decision, Dee. I hope that this eases your pain and builds your autonomy.

When we teleport ourselves to the global sober bash at your place, can we race kangaroos with your wheels?

D it's now officially a blessing for society that you're clean and sober. That said, I still expect you to motor along the road with a line of cars behind you.....

I can't see me hitting the road where I live...too busy, too dangerous - sidewalks will do fine.

Not too many roos in the area either guys

I may be tempted to open the throttle tho and I think I'll go old skool on the soundtrack

Dee...when we were 16 we wanted a set of "Wheels" so bad we could'nt stand it ....

We dug "Round, round, round, round...I get around," by the Beach Boy's.

Well...your still able to "Get around"...enjoy !

Thats the mark of a true hero...resilinencey...

...and that... you have plenty of my friend. You have already proved that.

My hips are giving out, I know this. It's just a matter of time...or money for hip replacements (Not likely) but I will still "Get Around"...and so will you !!!

Should have thought to do this before I posted...some of the kids here may not know The Beach Boys. :-)

Thank you for sharing your fear and trusting this community with it. I have only been apart of the SR group for a short time but I can tell and see how much you are cared about and loved here. If you need anything please let me know, I worked Healthcare for a short amount of time.

Others have said it before me but it's so good to hear you talking about your own life.

I'm so happy that you will be fully able again and you most certainly will rock those wheels Dee.

Love to you.
