Nightime ponderings

It's 1.40am in the UK and I'm 20 mins short of 50 hours not drinking - and I've hit that withdrawal symptom that was the most frustrating last time I stopped drinking .... waking up in the early hours and not being able to get back to sleep.

The same would happen when I'd had alcohol but I'd laze about in a foggy state feeling sorry for myself whereas my more lucid mind is just racing.

I've realised something else my drinking was affecting was my teeth. I was getting through about 3 cans of fizzy drinks a day to cut through that 'gummy mouth' feeling I would get after drinking.

I've also realised - totally off topic - that my forum name is quite apt as it gets shortened to VW and my job involves customer service for VW cars - on a 3rd party basis. Only taken nearly a month to realise!!

Green jelly babies are the best.

This is exactly what happened last time, nights/early mornings of the most random thoughts. Slightly amusing but also highly frustrating when I need sleep.

Thank you for humouring me and my ramblings. :-D

Jelly babies I guess have the same inside as gum drops but without the sugar coating. The outside being a slightly harder version of the inside. And, never realised how bad this sounds until I wrote it down, they are meant to look like babies!!

There has been many a debate over whether you eat them legs first or start with the heads and they were very popular with the 4th Doctor Who.

After I came off SR earlier I opened a pack and played a game in the dark of whether I could guess the could guess the colour from the taste. But then realised because it was dark I had no way of knowing whether I was right or wrong!

I really need to get some sleep soon otherwise I'll have to change my name to Elwood P Dowd!

Many many years ago my family were on a train from London to Swansea which had compartments like those in Harry Potter and used up all but one seat. Being selfish sods, if anyone asked us if the seat was free we told them it was Harvey's (occasionally Elvira's, as in Blithe Spirit).
