It's not easy, but it is worth the effort. You don't have to feel this way again. Someone here told me that a little over six months ago....that was my crumb of hope. It didn't even believe that it could apply to me. It did.

You can do this. In fact, being here is a grand first step.

Getting it out via pee processing is a good start. . . just don't reset

Can you tell us how you are feeling physically?
You have to be careful when withdrawing from alcohol. . .

Thanks all.

If the ship is still floating in the morning we can start to talk about withdrawal.

Physically I'm Bruce Lee.

Mentally I'm on the rocks (har har) sorry..................

First week of sobriety I had to completely lean on some other women in sobriety whom I found in AA. The pull to drink was so strong that without support and accountability I wouldn't have straightened up until the binge was over (no clue how long that would have been). You're doing a great thing by reaching out here! We have faith in you. Get some face to face support too - it goes along way. Good luck to you!

Noon.

Time for that first beer of the day...

... know what, think I'll pass today.

And so it begins.

Welcome Sol,

Oh, there's hope all right. Heaps of it. So many of us have been exactly in your shoes. I was a hopeless, passed out by the side of the road drunk for 18 years. In two weeks I'll have been sober for 2.5 years. If I can do it, you can too brother!

If you'd been in my shoes then you'd have had some darn stinky feet too...

Congratulations on the Good Time and thanks for the encouragement.

Ok, well it's been about 10 hours since I last drank and I am very appreciative for this site. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I look forward to interacting on the forums and am truly ready for sobriety.

Thank you Dee, I've got to make this happen, I think these forums are really gonna help. I've been going thru this for a very long time, lying to myself and others, I know it's a problem and I have now admitted it, time to take some true action and just not drink. There are so many more constructive things I could be doing other than drinking. 11 hours down, I'm gonna try to sleep and then reach for 24 hours😊

Good to meet you EveryDay. SR helped me stop after decades of lying to myself. You can do it.
