3 1/2 months sober...Feeling...TIRED.

So i'm happy to say i'm 3 and a half months sober as of yesterday...So today makes 106 consecutive sober days.

That didn't happen on my own. I have to thank AA, my sponsor, my girlfriend, my family and of course you guys & gals here on SR as well! ;)

What's happening with me lately...Is i'm TIRED all the time it seems.

I get up and go to work...Thankful i still have my employment. I'm active in AA meetings...And just last weekend i joined a home-group and will be shaking hands this coming Saturday as my first *commitment* :)

Still at the end of the day...I find myself absolutely beat. Exhausted.

This is what is keeping me sober i know it...And i don't resent all the effort and things i have in place now. Honestly i embrace them. They have given me a much more stable life.

Life has continued to happen as it will. And i'm trying to keep things in balance. Thoughts of returning to drink have popped up here and there.

But when they do...They DO NOT scare me. Because i talk about them.
I accept that i'll likely have thoughts of this nature the rest of my life.

It's the ACTION that we take that matters. I'm in daily contact with my AA support and it's helping. ALOT.

Time for an afternoon coffee...I can feel myself tired AGAIN here at my desk...But there are things to do. Life continues and i'm glad to be here and sober and actually feel apart of it again.

Thanks for reading. Have a safe and sober 24 hours everyone.

Im also 3.5 months and very tired. I have more better days per week now than I did a few months ago. But the fatigue still gets me good once or twice a week. Today being one of them. I believe that when we are so exhausted, our bodies are using energy to HEAL. So I think it's actually a very good thing.

Congrats Finding on your 3.5 months of sobriety

Hi Findingtheway, I have been sober for about the same time and like Alphaomega I have more better days now.

I don't think this breaks medical advice rules but if you are sleeping properly but still feeling tired then maybe visit doctor to ask about a blood test to check iron/ b12 levels

Hi Saoutchik,

I went for a complete physical with my doctor a month ago, and have been going and getting regular blood work done to make sure my system is recovering at a stable rate.

He said my last results were in his words *Excellent*

Thank you for the suggestion though. :)

It's normal to be super tired the first few (or several) months. It will get better after a while. I too thought of the extra sleep I needed as being a positive thing that was healing my brain and body.

What's your diet like? What do you consume in a standard day?

I am right behind you at 104 days. I also get tired but it does not bother me as I feel it is my body repairing itself and finally getting the good sleep it had been missing for so long. I feel so much better since I quit drinking it is amazing.

I now wish to lose some weight but that is another matter.
