How sweet...

Breaking Bad and popcorn tonight with the husband.

Life is immeasurably easier with no alcohol in the house. Mr. Pouncer doesn't keep alcohol in the home anymore; it was driving me crazy. It really is no different than a heroin addict trying to stay sober with heroin in the refrigerator, cupboards, going to restaurants and friends' houses with heroin on the menu. Alcohol everywhere. Ack.

No cravings for the last few days, either. I am starting to enjoy sobriety and realize I am finally off the hook. I don't have to drink anymore, try to moderate, deal with hangovers, alcohol-related anxiety, guilt, et cetera.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

managed a quick run this morning but it is raining so I didn't go as far as usual.

Mecx you could go to one of the vinyl record fairs that are ever more polar. There is one near me in Spitalfields (Horner Square) every 2nd Friday.

Going to watch some serious running soon as the London Marathon is today

Morning all,

London marathon for you today. Soon we have our own ultra here in SA - the comrades. Heart wrenching and inspiring.

My song for all the weekenders on this glorious Sunday. Especially for those in the US of A.

Thanks ruby... The food scene in portland is amazing. The completion is high and we all benefit from it. I will check that out.

I ate out Thursday night at a new place. They rebuilt a new place where an old bar I used to go to was. It used to have a plane sticking out the roof to look like it crashed into the building. Lol. The memories. Anyway... Good food. Just I have been spoiled by great food. For the money I can pass going there again.

Good morning team!

Took a bit of a tumble over a cat yesterday. First time I fell since not drinking. Made me smile. I was always sturdy on my feet but when drinking I would always wake with bumps and bruises I could not explain how they got there. At least I know how I got my bump on the head.

Still not real warm out. Low 50's and with the wind off the water feels colder. Cannot wait until a full on warm day. Sometime next week. But I still go walking.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Good to see a few new faces and some returning smiles.

No gym today. Just some eggs and fruitwood smoked uncured bacon from the fancy pants stuff store.

I just want to take a moment to reflect on how freaking good Gain smells. My pillowcases smell wonderful. It really is the little things in life sometimes!

Thanks for my morning smile. It IS the little things in life - and the ability to notice them because my head is not in a fog.

Mrs. Non and I bought a new bed yesterday. It gets delivered Monday. Very excited. Our 12-year-old bed just isn't very comfortable anymore.

After bed shopping we went to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant. They had a new menu item called the Carlos Burrito Extravagante. They had me at "topped with jalapeno bacon". It was delicious, but they don't mention on the menu that Carlos doesn't have any friends. Epic burrito aftermath. 'nuff said.

Have a great Sunday, Y'all!

What kind of bed did you get Nons?? I got a Stearns and Foster last year and am not thrilled with it.

I just found out the other day my work is going to bring in a yoga instructor twice a week and pay us for it.

Good morning everyone. More restful sleep last night. I'm off to an 8 a.m. AA meeting to meet a friend and see friendly people.

Then, I don't know. The kids are restless with being cooped up yesterday.

I should send them on a run.

Pouncer, alcohol does seem to permeate the fabric of society. I've developed blinders. You have to. Or you can start critically looking at ads. Did I really have that much fun and look that good while drinking? Towards the end? Not st all. Takes practice but my eye slides over it now. Good work.

Time to get ready.

Good morning! Still on the bus. Yesterday was a quiet, lazy day of internet browsing, naps and movies. Today will probably be more of the same. Maybe some reading (non-internet) as well. Perhaps some dabbling in hobbies.

Wishing everyone a nice day and a pleasant tomorrow!

hey ho everyone. Another glorious looking morning here. Wife came home more miserable than a hamster in a frozen wheel. I just made that up by the way. Hamster in a frozen wheel - feel free to use it.

Lot's to do, so far behind don't know where to start. But, as always, I prioritze the wrong things - like spending time in the yard or going fishing.
Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork - purge!
Resume! Apply for job...

Good no hangover morning. Off to the science museum with my husband for a triple lineup of 3d movies. Tornadoes then galapagos then airplanes! Can't wait. If I was still drinking I would have ordered tickets last night then just not gone.

Della, Gain is the best. Reminds me of crawling into the pile of warm, just dried, clothes as a kid.

Tempurpedic Cloud-something. I liked the one that was a bit firmer and Mrs.Nons liked this one. So we compromised and got this one.

Gain? Gotta try it. I always use Tide....I agree Della, nothing like the smell of clean sheets.
And nothing like a comfy bed...I like the pillow top comfy kind.
Woke up to a rainy day but it looks like it's clearing already. I think I'll go for the morning walk with the doggies afterall.
Terrible about earthquake in Nepal...2100 dead, 10 climbing Mt. Everest.
But...here at my house, life is good. No hangovers so that makes life wonderful. I don't take it for granted. It's what I think about when I think of drinking.
Ok...I guess I'll get moving. Today is my non vegetarian cheat day....turkey meatloaf sounds yummy. I can freeze leftovers.
See you all later.
