Back again - oh crap moment

I found SR a few years ago at a time I really needed it. Went through a bit of a rough patch with withdrawal, and then had a great 6 months of sobriety.

Tonight I put my glass down and realised I just finished an entire bottle of gin in 2 nights and had a bit of an 'oh crap' moment. I remembered SR and came back to read my old posts because I feel like I am well down the slippery slope.

I hope to be back soon with a day one post.

Welcome back JamesAdams! I too strayed from my recovery ( more than once ) and ended up drinking daily every time. Perhaps you can add to or change your plan this time around to make it stick?

Welcome back James.

Yeah, seems to be a pretty common theme here, including for myself. "ohhh, just a couple drinks won't hurt", and the next thing you realize you're looking at yourself in the mirror in the morning with squinted eyes looking horrible, and are back to a bottle a day.

Congratulations on 6 months of sobriety. You should really be proud of that and it shows you can do it. Do you know where things went wrong?

I'm back on day two after slipping and reworking my own plan.

Nice to have you back JA! I'm so glad you're not content to keep drinking. We know you can get back on track. We'll be with you.
