Outing Heartsafire
 

Forgive me if I'm overstepping my bounds here, but I just wanted to give our friend Heartsafire a big shout-out for making it through a work trip surrounded by booze this week - healthy and SOBER!!!

Way to go!!!

Each challenging situation like that in sobriety brings us new learnings and energy and confidence that we can be the sober US without having to go back to the drink to live a fantastic life!!

I couldn't have made it without you, Venecia, Viking and my family on the 24 hour thread. I'm eternally grateful to each of you - I bow down to your awesomeness.

I'm living proof that recovery works when you work it. As I told the 24 hr folks, if you don't have someone (preferably multiple someone's) you can call, text or email when you feel like you're tempted or falling, I highly recommend it. You wouldn't have started this thread had I not gotten my plan & core support group in place weeks before my trip. Reaching out has been the difference this time around.

I knew you could do that work trip...and you not only did it you did it with stride!

Reaching out or staying isolated is the difference between me drinking or staying sober. You did awesome and showed how important a solid support network is.
