She's lovely! Can you handle her or does she not like being touched?

Didnt expect to see a spider, lol!!

I have a pet turtle named Voldetort. She's awesome but also grumpy in her old age. However, watching her play in the dirt is quite meditative.

lunar 04-17-2015 09:09 AM

Ohhh, about 3 yrs.

Soberwolf 04-17-2015 09:11 AM

Voldertort lol

She's handleable and pretty calm,
however she does have 1" fangs
and likes to "kick" urticating hairs
off of her abdomen when annoyed.
Can cause a bad rash/itch.

What species of turtle is Voldetort, Tennant?

She's a box turtle. She doesn't like water much, which I find oddly amusing.

I saved an Eastern Box turtle a few years ago from one of the neighbourhood
cats. Kept her for a while, then released her to a nice habitat.
Males usually have reddish irises, females usually brown/yellow.
In addition to most brightly colored fruits, she also liked to eat
nightcrawlers and as a treat, "turtle sticks". LOL.
She would crunch them like little pretzel sticks.

Volde loves zucchini, tomatoes, and squash. I'll look for the sticks tomorrow. She was eating lettuce yesterday and squealed. It was hilarious.

Ours is a rescue turtle as well. She has bullet marks from kids shooting her with a bb gun. Another kid also wrote on her with a sharpie "eat more chicken" good grief.

She's quite spoiled. I call her my puppy in body armor

LOL!
What characters they are!
Mine would sit still, until I turned my head.
She would then literally disappear in a few seconds,
then wedge herself under the couch or behind the entertainment center.
Once I hid and watched in disbelief. She motored! For a turtle.

Volde loves crawling and hiding in rolled up yoga mats. She keeps trying to get under the couch but only her head fits. So she stays there for hours, with her head shoved under the couch.

I teared up watching it. A massive Star Wars marathon will commence before it comes out!

lunar your spider pic just gave me flash back of a large spider that snuck into my pajamas as a kid. It is beautiful. I just couldn't do it. Not scared of many things but unexpectedly seeing a spider larger than a quarter makes me scream like a 5 year old. Much respect.

Solarion 04-17-2015 10:53 AM

I'll be up on the roof with Soberwolf -- please don't let that spider up here!

And here's my dear kitty:

I've been listening to a 5 year old squealing on and off for the last 3 hours. ..... she's playing with her brothers but it's grating a bit now.:headbange
