Sorry to hear it canguy. And I'm sorry if I'm missed something in your earlier posts....but this is your house, right? And she's your guest? Your house, your rules, man. You have nothing to apologize for or worry about - let the guest sulk all she wants. Her attitude is not your problem and you can't control her feelings. In the meantime, worry about what you can control. See what you can do to try and get to bed early tonight. Plan a morning breakfast and some outdoor activities tomorrow. Just some ideas. Good luck.

Up way too early here down south of Mexico way. Finally got up to take some aspirin, my headache's much better now but it was bothering me in my dreams! I dreamed I was drinking in a casino in Bangkok. I was trying to get a grip on just having 1 or 2 drinks but I just knew it was going to get out of control and I felt terrible about it. Having the headache added that "hungover feeling" to the dream, guess it was more like a nightmare. Never been to Bangkok in real life, either. I did go to Indonesia once though, beautiful country. Anyhoo.

I have a light day in the office today, should have plenty of time to take a nap during the day and clean the house. Lots of dirt tracked in all over the place from re-potting plants yesterday!

You should feel safe and respected in your own home. If someone threatens that then it's not mandatory for them to stay if they feel uncomfortable. Personally, I would be unlikely to reach out. Your guest should come to you and apologise!

Wow, just catching up on your situation there canguy. Your guest will be the one that regrets this. I think you're doing great in an unfortunate situation. Not the kind of thing we like to deal with in our homes for sure. You're showing great strength of character...hang in there!

Good Morning Sobrenders!

Friday off from work. Long list of things to do today. As usual, none of them involve drinking alcohol!

Hope everyone is feeling fine a froggy today. Let's do this!

Hello, weekenders! Back from my trip jet-lagged and fighting a head cold. Looking forward to some sleep this weekend. Had a long post that my internet connection lost, hate that.

Will post my pet when I can. He has finally recovered from ACL surgery and can run again, happy times.

Good Morning all. I think my night sweats have finally gone.
If you can't see me I'm standing on the bus roof doing the Macarena dance.

Welcome back from your trip Bernie! It's always nice to catch up with friends. And you get to come back to the spiffy new kitchen.

Canguy, I'm sorry that you're dealing with this but you can stay sober. I quit when my husband was in the midst of a major relapse. Seeing what I wasn't missing helped. Distract yourself. I guess my only advice is to remember the rule of never engage with someone who's been drinking. No discussions. Pretend your guest isn't there and go about your business. Make plans for tomorrow. If your guest is up for them, fine. Mif not, do them anyway. Hang in there.

Good morning everyone! One child off and at school already for band. Time to deal with stubborn number two. And get myself ready. It's a beautiful morning. Dewy. The sun is coming up. Everything looks gorgeously green. Daffodils poking up all over the place and the flowering trees are lovely. Not great, I'm sure, if one has allergies but they are pretty to see. Softens everything.

I'm not so lucky as Non and Olive who have the day off. I'm looking forward to the weekend. One more day.

See you all later.

Canguy... This person is a friend? Lover? I ask rhetorically.... Anyone who trying to manipulate your emotions, including the drink, cannot really care much about you. Just them. Guests don't lock them selves in their room or go for private walks and uninvite the host. Just saying.

But you have the whole sober weekender team on your side here. You know what you have and should not give that away easily. You worked hard for this. You deserve better treatment.

Sorry for the rant but its not easy to read.

K

OK folks... day off... warmer here today. Raining. But the sun will be out after lunch and mid 60's. PERFECT to do spring cleaning and then enjoy the rewards with a sunny warm afternoon!

Time to put on the music and get a moo-vin!!!

Hope everyone is well today!!!

Uggg... cat is going crazy after the first bug of the season. Crazy animal!!!

Hi All,

I'm committing to my first sober weekend--who knows how long it's been since I haven't had a drop of alcohol on a Fri, Sat, or Sun but count me in!

I'm in. My drinking is insanity and I can't take playing with fire anymore. Not feeling very up to writing much at the moment, but happy to read everyone's thoughts and to have the support.

Love the pet pics

Friday night here, not a great day emotionally but didn't drink, spent the night making pizza and watching the movie Smashed which reminded me why I don't drink.
Love reading what you're all up to
