Exhaustion
HI there,
This is my first time to these forums...I have been an on and off drinker for many years. I stopped for 3 years prior to and following the birth of my 3rd son. I have had periods of sobriety...for a couple of months and then weeks at a time then fall back to it.
I need help and want to know how to just stop because I know that is the only option and it is affecting my health, career, relationship etc etc etc....

These forums are a great source of information and inspiration.
I stay sober with the help of lots of AA meetings and time spent here at SoberRecovery. Whatever your plan is, it works if you work it. Read around and post often!
Welcome to the forum, Niklyn.
When I came here I was quite scared and was offered so much daily support through reading and posting. For me I had to take each day as it came as I changed old habits and checked out the landscape of my life.
This is a great place to be. Glad you are here!

Hi Nik
Welcome, you have come to a great place!
I've been a member here for a while but haven't been committed to my recovery so this time I have a decent recovery plan. I really recommend taking the time to find out what works for you.
I'm finding that AA meetings, reading widely about addiction and posting here every day is helping me a lot. Just knowing that there's that community to go to and that you're not the first person to have these urges/cravings can be really comforting.

Welcome NikLyn
I hope you are ready to improve your life.
Aside from all the good advice you are getting, I'd like to add something I'm going to start calling "Rule Number One Here" - a rule I am making up. And no, I am not in charge. I'm just a concerned citizen of the forum.
Rule #1 - Before you drink, post here and get a second opinion on it. If you ask and EVERYONE says it's okay to drink, then go ahead. Otherwise, no drinking.
