intense craving from nowhere

I've got 11 days today. Tonight i was teachng boy scouts like i do every Tuesday, and in the past my M.O. has been to stop at the gas station on my way home, grab a six pack and make a night of it. Tonight as i got in my car and started the engine i had such an intense urge to grab some beer, and i was even negotiating with myself trying to convince myself that 1 would be fine. This is closest I've come to drinking in the past 11 days and the suddeness and intensity of it shocked me.

Anyway I'm sitting here eating my comfort food (cheese and crackers) and drinking a tonic water, and kind of reassessing how to deal with these sudden cravings.

Seattleite, 11 days sober is just FANTASTIC, congratulations. It was a habit you had and your brain is trying to carry on as usual. Now you are that much more powerful than before. It will take some time for the cravings to go away, and they will. Rootin for ya. :egypt:

I'm glad you got through it :)
If you can change your routine - go another way, or something it might help? :)

11 days! That's amazing. Good on you for not succumbing to the cravings! You will feel so proud of yourself tomorrow! I am only just starting out on this journey and was at only Day 2 and was a fool last night for telling myself I could have a couple. It's a lie. I'm back on Day 1 today. Keep up the good work! Your story has inspired me that Incan do it too!
