Looking after someone who is old, deaf and blind with a broken hip can't be a picnic. What a fantastic thing to be doing with your life. Do you have any siblings to help you out? No wonder your options are limited to some extent. You say it contributes to your isolation....do you live in a rural area, or are you talking about that hermity pattern us alkies tend to find ourselves in?
Going to hit the sack. Look forward to hearing how you are going :-)

Hi all,
A little late today, but I be here. Day 5 (sowwy Cissy, can't break the habit of counting days). In the past, Day 5 has been a serious hurdle. Don't know why. But I be strong today and all is well in the Land of Lapidas.
Her mind is still very sharp and she's relentlessly optimistic and cheerful. I admire her so much for that.
Nope, I'm her only living relative. Which makes me the last Lapidas. Which makes me a collector's item.

I admire you Mum for that too. Glad you're feeling strong on a serious hurdle day. Last Lapidas sounds like a Mariachi band (I hope nobody deems that a racist joke - not meant to be. I can't keep up with the P.C.ness these days and I'm pretty liberal-minded).

Thank you Shabby, Cissy, Thomas, Boozer, and Dee for your posts and thanks. Day 6. This thread is slowing down a bit. Maybe I should move directly to my Next Relapse, introduce a bit of drama.
Just kidding!

Hope all are well.
