Welcome to the family!
I'm glad you joined us. As depressing as some of the threads can be, they reinforce my sobriety cause I don't want to go back there. They remind me what's waiting for me if I drink again.
Try reading our stories in Stories of Recovery forum. Lots of hope and inspiration there.

Op posted a link 1 min.....try this http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ml#post5317881

Be careful Detoxing on your own. I detoxed by accident once (Couldn't drink my usual amount) it resulted in me almost dieing. Thank God for emergency rooms.
I would recommend medical supervision. Just because you were OK before doesn't mean you will be OK again. At the very least have someone with you at all times

I don't have a plan.
Right now I'm just trying to get through the night, not drinking, just fending off the demons. I tried going to sleep, that didn't work. Shakes already, but that's probably because I haven't eaten in three days. I made a small sandwich, couldn't even take a bite of it.
Been here before (except for the not eating part).
I guess my plan is to talk to people here.

Hey Frank,
Welcome. Post as much as you like I am here for a while. It is not all doom and gloom mate. I was where you are now nine days ago. It does get better. I have kept a journal going for how I felt day by day. You can check it out if you like - 2 days in (48 hours) Tomorrow you're going to feel so much better mate.

No worries mate, it is not all doom and gloom. Every cloud has a silver lining and the sun does eventually come out to shine. Just remember that you are not alone in this. There is a whole bunch of support here on SR
