Chicks recovery thread.... end date 4.13.15
Hi all....
I've been around for nearly a year. I've gone a long way towards not drinking. My longest stint has been 4 months October through February. Obviously I haven't been able to kick the beer to the curb yet.
So. Sigh, I am posting just after my last beer. (Sorry for posting while drunk).
I am ready for all of the help you all can give. I plan to be accountable in this thread. I will listen and try suggestions. I don't see myself going to AA..... but I am really totally ready to quit drinking.

A thread is a good idea Chick - look at the recovery plan thread tomorrow.
Start working out what you are prepared to do, right now, to make this stick

Ok soooo.... note to self. Getting ready for bed drunk really sucks. It's not a pleasure to wash your face and brush your teeth drunk. And tonight I know I am lucky I even bothered.
I know this is something I will be happy to do tomorrow night.
Im in bed headed towards sleep.
My mouth still tastes of beer.
I pray for the courage to face you all in the morning.

I am so glad to see you starting a thread Chickchick to help you achieve sobriety.
Have you looked at what thoughts or feelings were going through your head when you picked up? Did you have a plan in place for dealing with the cravings?

Hey ChickChick, you're most likely being harder on yourself today than anything you anticipated finding here. I felt wretched the day I found SR and someone posted to me that I never had to feel that way again. That gave me a spark of hope when I had none. You don't have to feel this way again either friend.
I too look forward to your next post.

Chickchick,
I hope you get on sr and read this thread in the morning and see how many of us really want you to be sober and happy.
I did something similar to you on my last relapse, I wrote in my journal how it felt to be drunk, how much I hated it.
Today is a brand new day. You will have time to rehydrate. Treat yourself kindly. Eat good food. You can make a plan, you can do this.
