Day One
I screwed up last night and for the past couple of weeks. I was doing good and I still think that I'm okay as far as cutting down on how often I drink, but in the past two weeks in particular, I binge drank several nights.
Of course I feel ashamed, depressed and disappointed with myself, but I admit I made a mistake and I know that my past actions do not own me and that I can only control what I'm doing at the moment.
Ugh, nonetheless, I'm bummed (but also optimistic).

I understand and relate to every single word you wrote. What I've learned from the past and from reading here is that shame doesn't help. You drank. You realize it was not the right choice. So, like I am doing, we make a plan of recovery and stick to it.
Be gentle to yourself today and try to figure out what is keeping you from being sober. You're so worth it.
