Hurricane Marvin Just wrote this in my journal. Thought I'd share. Hurricane Marvin The past several years of my life have been a destructive deadly storm. I stared into an empty wine stained cup, night after night, as the storm raged. In my head, in my body, in my life. Everywhere I went, the storm went. Everything I touched, the storm ravaged. When I went through the "eye" of the storm it was nice and calm. It was fun. "Wasn't that exciting" I thought. I thought I was safe. Then the eye passed and the storm ragged harder than before. The more I drank the harder the deadly wind battered away at my life. My health. My finances. My relationships. Four days ago I put that cup down. The storm, in protest, raged even harder. Then it slowly weakened. Then it stopped. This morning is the morning after the storm. We've all seen the footage on the news of hurricane or tornado ravaged areas. Well, that's my life this morning. Destroyed homes, downed power lines, flood damage. The streets of my life are littered with debris and overturned cars and broken dreams. Today is clean up day. Today I take an inventory. Today I put on some work gloves and start cleaning up after the storm. Today I begin to rebuild. |
Great analogy, and glad you weathered the storm. Hope we can be of help in cleaning up with you. |
Great job and in time you'll look at your life and it will be re-built better then you ever would have believed. Some more storms might follow - just don't give in |
Good for you! What's the clean up plan? |
