Hi Rose. Are you committed to not drinking? If so, make sure your friends all understand this. You don't have to get all dramatic and proclaim you're an alcoholic or anything like that. Just be stern with your friends about you not drinking. And confide in at least one other person to be your watchdog. Keeping it a secret sometimes backfires.

Wow, lots to comment on. But again I was worn out yesterday and hit the sack early. I debated going to the gym but decided to get a few more fish this AM. My friend is coming over for the tree trimming this AM "before' the thunderstorms arrive." His phone was cut off blah-blah...

Olive it would have been easier to just write down what the label says and post it. But our house detective Solarion figured it out.
I am a rock picker upper myself. I have rocks I picked up in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula almost 20 years ago. My luggage got heavier. Too bad I didn't pick up any gold.

As for over thinking things, isn't that what we all seem to do?

something made me think of this on another thread, should I focus on lifestyle or focus on staying sober... I think a little bit of both.

Check out the SWEET dance move at 2:30! Was Marie 'showing'. Yes folks, this got radio play.

Then the middle started to look like "spicata", so I Googled for "spicata Aurea", and came up with:

CORYLOPSIS SPICATA 'AUREA'
(Spike Winterhazel)

which seems to match the shapes on the label, and the leaves seem to match.

Hmm, maybe I'll get some plants this summer ...
Um...

I don't know if you are a bush whisper or a google whisper. but either way, very nice job S!!!

Hey S I have been reading a course in miracles for some time now. I take it slow and really try to understand and apply a lesson.

My most recent that I find still in need to work on is unlearning isolation. I am volunteering today all morning actually to pack food boxes for the Stop hunger Now campaign to be with folks and hopefully get and give a smile. I need an upper to kick me off this weekend.

Anyway... Please IM me if you have questions or observations to share. We also have a course thread I believe in the spiritual section.

Enjoy!

To all the rock picker uppers... I confess... I am also a RPU'er... BIM, Olive, Ruby, LB... I think Strat said something also? You know who you are...

Rock fest in Maine this summer! LOL... it may all look the same but the shapes and granite that runs through this shale type rock is wonderful. Ah... the rocky Maine Coast!!

This is near my house out on Cape Elizabeth...The one below is Down East Maine...

Hey tang let's get through

Hi K , in a book about beach combing i read. Obviously a critical and important read for someone deciding to move close to the shore, he he he .. It mentioned giving rocks back to the sea each year ..
Like the tides go in and out .. we can also do the same with our beach finds .. another way to free yourself up from holding on ..

Checking in. Long days. I am finding a direct correlation between people who wait until the last week to get their taxes done and poor record-keeping. Like pulling teeth!

Those pictures are great Weasel. You're fortunate to have that close by. Mesaman has great surroundings as well....always enjoy his photos.

Planning on a peaceful sober weekend here in the relentlessly humid south.

Happy Friday morning everyone! The weekend is so close I can taste it!
Last night's storms - tornados, thunderstorms and hail, were wild in this area, but seems to be all calm now. Thank goodness!

Good morning! Yay for Friday!
I plan to get to work early and make it a productive day.lots to do.
It's too windy to go walking. ...all that pollen and dust blowing around really stirs up my allergies and makes me feel lousy. Good reason to get my butt to the office.
Looking forward to a great weekend!

Della, humidity is just damp when it's cold. Better spin on it though. It's colder than yesterday but not bad.

Son still not on top of the world. I read through all these earlier but brain scattered. I'm at work. My mother is at my house, watching kids and braving sickness. I can't call in to stay home.

Canguy, glad you are staying strong. You can do it.

Rose, it's good that you aren't on drinks duty anymore. Getting away is good. If it gets to tempting, take a break. Walk around the block. Go to your room. Deep breaths. We've all been there.

I'll check in later.

Non, feel for you with the shoebox filing systems. Good luck!

Rocks In My Head

Rocks!

NOW we're cookin' with Gas! I go around pickin' up all kinda Guano to bring Home. My lil 'prize' Rock is from a reliably-dated Formation in Scotland that's something like ~1.2 billion years old. Almost as old as I felt many mornings when still Drinking.

I haven't talked to a local Geologist to peg the age of these Seashells seen below; found while Hiking with the Pooch on Public Land posted in an earlier Pic out our Kitchen Window/Door. Volcanoes around us blew ~25 million years ago, and I haven't seriously looked at when all this was Ancient Seabed. Including much of Utah...

Good and Sober fun, eh?

'Rockin' In The Free World' ~ Neil Young

Took the day off today and slept in. While watching TV last night, laying on my side, I sneezed and apparently tore a muscle on my right side. Good Gawd almighty did it hurt. Now coughing and/or sneezing give me a deeper appreciation for the pain a woman must go through during child birth.

I am fully aware that ALL things happen for a reason. Nonetheless, the Universe and I are arguing over this one.

Bmac, those sneezes are sneaky attackers. I've done the same thing! Just a pulled muscle I hope, and not a cracked rib...

Another FULL morning of work procrastination here! Just can't seem to bring myself to do a bloody thing work-wise. Too many days in a row of this. Ugh.

On the upside: Happy Friday, everybody!
