Hi, Sunday bedtime. Im going to hit 60 days this week. The changes I've made are small and in some ways phenomenal.

There are flowers in my garden, house renovation underway, cats and dog happy, everyone's health checks up to date.

I sat in a chair for about 2 hours yesterday and thought about nothing. Absolutely nothing. Watched the breeze in the trees, watched the birds fly about, listened to the dog snuffling.
It's like my brain is rewiring itself.

I speak less, I think less and I'm getting more done. It's funny how you drink to deal with pain. When you don't drink you are not in pain anymore

I'm going start collecting stones.

Hi JaneLane,

You are most welcome to the weekender!

That book, like many others, is in the large waiting to be read pile beside my bed! My brain can only manage shory stories at the moment!

Behan,

Me too! I have been digging out lots of short books to go through. Also found a couple of interesting books on addiction on my e-reader which could be useful.

Hi trees

I loved your post.

I can definitely relate to the feeling of quietness. I've got back into my yoga and last night I completely spaced out after a meditation and had somehow spent an hour and 15 minutes just floating on this sunshiney mental wave. I haven't done that for so long.

Have a lovely day ☀️☀️☀️

what else... oh Kim K - yes, the caucuses remark. Armenia is to the caucuses what nebraska is to the rockies - I think. I will actually be in the caucuses on the other side of the hill in a couple months - assuming my visa gets approved. I'll do my best to promote world peace. However, I saw in the newspaper this morning that a certain female politician is about to announce her candidacy for a certain public office here in the us of a. And if elected to said office, this brain will be looking for a country to move to. I was gonna buy land in upstate new york some years back but decided against moving to a state of people that actually was brilliant enough to elect this person to the senate.
Sorry...

In other news, I saw an old work mate from 13 years ago. Getting some contacts and networking going. A real job is somewhere in my future. Latest report was a buck-fifty per diem and around a buck an hour straight pay... plus incentives... I could sacrifice a couple years of my life for that.

Need to start working on my off the grid housing plans once I am gainfully employed once again.

Thank you for all of the suggestions M and strat, for getting a working party together to clean up the watershed. It will definitely take some effort to coordinate something like this. 2 different townships own the land for starters, and the only way in is to walk,
but there is definitely potential for a couple business to cough up some bux for a picnic...
Ha ha yes, gorged, annihilated, pretty much stayed on the plate four thirty seconds

Woken to another lovely sober morning, heading to the gym then out to walk the dog I think. Fresh air on the weekend really is a lovely change from stale alcohol in my bedroom

YAbba dabba doo ,
morning all , a sunshiny sunday in this far flung corner of London .

Books hmm i had a bit of an addiction to them (what a surprise eh ?) .. had about 5000 of them when i was at my worst , some went on the fire, some recycled , some given away , i only have a few left … .

A book can bring me happiness and delight .. lots of them can bring misery . I try to do the one in , one out thing nowadays .

coffee on and slowly waking up , still waiting for job paperwork , i keep reminding myself there have only been 3 business days out of the last 10 days .. so whaadya expect ..
Cant wait for time to fly in one part of my life and it seems to be whizzing along in another part of my life ..

ah well .. another days in the sun on sober beach where we can play in freedom .

m

Hi mecanix

I just got a third bookcase for my one bedroom flat! Not enough room but I had piles of books on the floor! I only buy secondhand books now. No new editions! Sorry to hear so many of yours were ruined in the fire.

I'm in London too. Going out for a walk in the sunshine later and listening to the Grateful Dead :-)

Have a lovely day

Well went to Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday.....only went along for the ride...needless to say I am now the owner of a Hurricane spin mop. I am the world's biggest sucker for as seen on tv cleaning products.

Hi Della

A hurricane spin mop sounds terrifying! I have enough trouble avoiding falling over my regular mop and bucket ;-)

LoL i deliberately threw them on the fire , a cathartic and cleansing experience especially for those dire ones i was defiantly never going to read ..
i also did the same with all my french bills and paperwork that had grown into a mound over 2 feet in height , that had flooded through my door …
It wasn't the best way of dealing with stuff and i'd not recommend it but it certainly turned it from unmanageable proportions to something i was more able to deal with .

I've grown and learned a bit from those day

Bestwishes,m

Good Morning Sobrenders!

It's cool and crisp here this morning. Both in the house and outside as we left a few windows open overnight. A little chilly as I type.

I feel a little guilty about something, so I am going to use this forum as a confessional. I was disloyal to my tax employer yesterday. I prepared the taxes for a nice couple and the bill was $500. (The corporate office raises prices in the last week of tax season because they can.) This couple was a little distressed about the bill and decided to leave and 'think about it' before paying. I am unable to directly change the price, but the office manage has wide latitude to do so. I followed this couple out to the parking lot and coached them on how to get their price discounted, and how low I thought the manager would go on their return ($350). Then I went to the manager and told her I didn't think this couple would pay more than $350. When the manager called they talked her down to $325.

I only feel a little guilty.

Keeping it simple and sober today. Let's do this!

Good morning weekenders. Woke up wanting a big old fashioned breakfast. No cup of yogurt or anything from a box. Gonna hit the gym first and earn what I plan to eat. I don't want any guilt to go with my biscuits.

Happy Sunday gang.
