You seem surprised by your success. Don't be. Be joyful for sure but you absolutly have the strength to live a sober life. You have more say in this than it might feel like.

I say this because I learned that I had the say. I have moments... Like today. But I stayed sober!

Oh man this is the cutest image!!! Totally made my morning. Poor old guy. Pets do the most adorable and hilarious things. My big fat dog rolls off the couch sometimes or trips and falls over his stupidly long ears, he always seems so stunned and confused but never feels anything - a tree could fall on this one and he'd barely notice.

And glad you're going to leave it there Rose, I definitely have a harder time staying sober if there's alcohol in my house. The inconvenience go having to go buy some can give you another moment to reconsider

Hope everyone is keeping well. Very busy, productive day.

Had chinese take out tonight, followed by a movie: Cloud Atlas! What a movie!!! I can't recommend it enough!! Making me think about how are lives are interconnected and the consequences of our actions on others. A wise and beautiful movie.

i'm in the give away / chuck away group too Rose . Not drinking it is good , not buying it in the first place is a lot safer .

sometimes we got to stand up and make the decision , there is a certain amount we can do so the option is off the table .
You know how much i work to convince myself and remind of those horrible feelings drinking causes , the pain and issues it has caused in my life .

I don't ask myself the question often but it does happen … stay aware and wary of the negatives of alcohol as well as working on the positives of sobriety .
That way i find i have two points of leverage .
I hope you keep on with us, it's great having the sober you here , my sobriety brother .

Checking in tonight. Mr. strat made a mistake to start watching cat from hell. So we're now watching it. I think he's slowly turning the the dark side of liking cats. I'm going to have to pick him up a crazy cat man starter kit meme if he's not careful.

Lbrain-can relate to what you're saying. Can't say this place is the same country I grew up with. One of the things I've been trying to figure out is where the heck one would go. Every other country seems just as screwed up. Given the state of the economy here as well as everywhere else, starting off the grid coops seems like an awesome idea. Maybe we can join BigS and start one there.

Tetra-glad to hear you're doing so well. Your comment made sense about Nicholas Sparks being a male Danielle Steele, although I think she writes better. I read one of his novels after getting it on clearance and it was terrible.

Rose-I agree with everyone and am glad you're leaving it.

Behan-how does the end of the Waltons end?

Bmac-they also have matching curtains believe it or not. Just be careful no one knows. If word gets out, you're going to have a lot of boys aged 5-8 interested in being your best friend.

Ruby-you really have to watch birds that are congregating since they're probably up to no good. If you really ever see a zillion of them....run!

Got ~12 of these lil Guys seen below crawling around the Porch. Pretty kewl.

So nice a day, we had to have the A/C running in the Truck. Even the Pooches had to hide under the Bench for shade at the Dog Park after their Pro Wrestling Bouts. All the House Windows are open, and we're groovin' on a slight Breeze while watching Home Improvement Shows. The Pooch is groovin' on a few Grilled Ribeye Steak scraps. 'Outlander' on Starz TV is on soon, so Da Wife can lust away over 'Jamie The Scotsman'. She's read all the Books. Older Woman Aphrodisiac Material, so what do I care?

It's great to read of Folks here kicking their AVs to the Curb via assorted Strategies. When in doubt, pour it out!

Here's some Stevie singing about our younger, simpler days, and all that we wish for again. I'm lovin' his blinged-out Fender Rhodes Electric Piano. Besides, I always found some of this Adulthood 'stuff' to be overrated.

We Honeymooned up in Bodega Bay CA where 'The Birds' was filmed. All were had by a good time while we recon'ned Film Locations. Down the Coast, the old Schoolhouse where Suzanne Pleshette's Character lived was a nice B&B. Tippi Hedren founded an Animal Sanctuary North of L.A..

Hi everyone! Great day here. The vegetarian fair was interesting and I enjoyed people watching and eating good food.
You are right,Rose, healthy eating takes planning and 2 weeks is a great idea. Nothing worse than not having anything in the house to eat!

Morning 6:55am here. No jogging today as I had a slightly rough night (heartburn). In addition to that there was a half hour spell emergency services sirens going off nearby. I will forgo the big breakfast to compensate.

It's a shame about your friend Tommy Weeze but as you say you can't stop other peoples madness.

I'm going to be working on my old Lancia Flaminia later today but right now enjoying the watery London sunshine that looks like lemonade, accompanied by the Isley Brothers

Good morning! A very early morning for me. Slept well. Just somehow I started to work through a system design for a work presentation I need to make next Thursday. So I got up to write it down.

Some of my best ideas come just before dawn. Unfortunately some of my worst have been made just before sunset!

Anywaz....I can nap later I suppose. Relax a few more minutes and then hop to the gym for an eye opener.

Sorry to read you had heartburn Soa.... I take Prilosec everyday and it completly takes care of mine. Doc said I have berates disease. (Sp?) I need to take them forever. Man what relief. Feel better!

Yeah... Effing Tommy. Looks good and had fun. Played a game of cribbage. I told he he cannot smoke in front of me. I don't want to stink like that. So he went outside. He will be drinking his beers soon I know.

Lots of yoga, music, reading and cooking has been taking place. I feel very settled and optimistic this morning.

Its been quite an afternoon. Started with a lunch with the date I didn't meet up with in a bar last night. V glad I didn't get dragged into that.....my days of 3.a.m bars are gone.

So lunch...... Then it got really complicated. I'll spare you the details....but navigated it all on lime soda. 'notha day nearly down.....
