Up before the dawn today. Actually up a few hours ago at 3:30 AM after going to bed early. Headache and general feeling of inflammation are gone. Had a white cheddar pasta bake (microwaved) with tuna, peas and shiitake for a very early brunch.

Weasel made me realize I could go to the gym in the morning for a change. Still recovering from last workout, but I could do treadmill and legs today.

Meant to start a load of laundry two or three hours ago. It's still sitting on my bed. Will remember it again next time I see it.

Hooray for expanding the range of the normal! I think this outfit looks good on Jaden. The fabric on the sleeves and skirt looks to be more fleecy than I would wear, but that's his call.

Awesome S.... Love it!

Was also up at 3:30. Gym was super empty. Got a lot done and the knee feels good. Ready for a long walk by the water later.

Tommy update: He is out of the rehab and doing very well physically. For Tommy anyway. He is frail looking but always has been. Guess what? Double pneumonia and he is what else???? back smoking already! YUP... drinking will follow soon after.

Our friendship is not based on how he chooses to take care of himself. I see it and give him an appropriately hard time about it and then I move on. Thats the way I handle most people. (except myself) If you see something, say something. After that let them do their job how they see fit (or unfit).

Going for coffee in an hour or so with him. Nice to be getting back to our banter of observations and wise cracks.

OK... now for my little one Chuckie. He has learned where the "rolly polly" treats are kept in the cabinet. He has camped out there and screams at me when I go near. Poor thing is just gonna have to get used to Jonesing for treats like I jones for drinking. This is a controlled substance household. Get used to it kid.

Good morning weekenders...I love early quiet Saturday mornings. A real treasure of sobriety for this dude. But Weasel has me feeling lazy because it's already seven o'clock and I haven't left for the gym yet. Gonna linger over a cup of coffee, listen to the chorus of birds singing and then get going. No grand vistas around here, but I've got a coffee date with that swing.

Make it a great day gang.

fromadistance, that looks really nice! A perfect place to meditate or just reflect on things. I think the only person that may have you beat is Mesaman in that department.

Weasel...I like both the blue and orange formats. I use the orange when I'm on my phone because it seems to work faster. I'll use the blue when on my laptop. I like the calming blue color and just got used to it.

Well, I'm off to go grocery shopping. Have a good sober Saturday everyone!

Throughout the day got random thoughts about going to a bar, watching hockey, talking to people and make some bets. Called my trainer instead, so he'll be waiting for me tomorrow at 11 a.m. for a vigorous workout

Checking in this morning. Was planning to go riding this morning, but will have to wait for it to warm up. It's still in the 40's.

Weasel-You checked on the turning in man card department at bed, bath and beyond?

Lbrain-I agree with M. Considering you have noticed an issue, there are lots of things you can do about it. You may want to see what the department of natural resources in PA knows about this issue. Sometimes they have volunteering opportunities, but it would be useful for them to know what is going on.

Solarion-we could have a celebrity fashion snark or what outfits you would be interested in wearing that has been worn by celebrities.

Ruby-speaking of tv shows, I have probably watched way too many discoveryID shows (wives with knives, deadly women, etc). I always get a weird feeling when anyone talks about insurance money and death. I agree that you will live forever.

Saoutchik-Maybe I should turn in my woman card. I can't stand Nicholas Sparks. That kind of romance kind of stuff is like nails on a chalkboard for me. Maybe bed, bath and beyond converted their department to women turning in their cards....

Rose-keep up the great work!

Freddybear-I love your avatar. Is it a bunny or a guinea pig? You made a wise decision with not going to the bar.

BigS-have a great time!

Strangeangel-keep hanging in there!

HAF-the vegetarian street fair sounds awesome! Enjoy!

Happy weekend everyone!

Sunny day, birds singing, grass turning green finally!
Nothing better than waking up early (OK not as early as some!), sober, feelin' good and the whole weekend ahead!

Good morning soberarians!!!!
Hi Rose! It sounds like you are doing great -doesn't it feel GOOD?
Thanks for the support for my new diet. Unfortunately, rich, delicious food is as dangerous me as drugs and alcohol. I am trying to look as food as nutrition, rather than indulgence and pleasure. Good luck, right? But with planning, I'm making some good veggie meals.
Time to get myself moving. A dog walk is next on my agenda. See you all later.

Hi, weekenders)

Count me in the group of Nicholas Sparks' anti-fans.

Beautiful day today - sunny, and warm, though windy. And I am trying to be super-cautious still recovering after my chicken pox.

The day has been fine so far - such an unusual break for me from constant financial worries and dark thoughts.

Boxing competition was at 11 a.m., so when I showed up all my trainers almost rush to me hugging, and asking how I am feeling. I was so glad to see them all again.

And one of my trainers asked me to sit next to him at the table where all the judges sit, and help him to announce competitors and give awards.

It was so unexpected! So I was sitting there watching my boxing buddies competing and having the best view. I so enjoyed! I absolutely dissolved in the moment and forgot about anything else.

Can't wait to start boxing again.

Now taking care of some chores, and later on I am having Debtors Anonymous meeting.

Have a great Saturday, all!

A fine Saturday Morning to all!

Just another fine day in Paradise, here. Fab Weather. More unpacking of Moving Boxes. Mebbe Homemade Sushi Rolls for Breakfast. Because we can. Avocado. Fake Crab. Scallions. Sriracha Chili Sauce. Despite being Terminally Caucasian, I'm getting kinda-good at getting the Rice 'just right'. Later, a Dog Play Date in the afternoon at the Dog Park/Open Space.

I got some Industrial-style Drapes hung yesterday to temporarily cover the 10'-wide Guest Bedroom Closet. The trick was to make some side Supports for the Drape Rod out of 2x4s that screwed into the Rough-In Lumber sides. I didn't want Bracket holes above in the Drywall. Mission Accomplished. I've got to muck with that Roughed-in Opening to install proper Closet Doors down the Road. All the connections for a future High End A/V System are at one Closet end, so A/V Gear access is key. The A/V Gear all comes over in one last Move in a few weeks. THEN, the fun begins of fitting it all in, and tuning the Studio Monitor Speakers in an Environment of smooth Walls and Polished Concrete Floors. A huge Throw Rug and a cushy Couch will help offset echo. Good Audio minutiae to direct my A-R propensities toward.

All this talk of Meditative Vistas - and, that sho is a nice spot to Swing shown above - made me think of a past Birthday Present: this solid Concrete Buddha. Weighs the proverbial Ton. Took 4 of us to jockey it into place here out West temporarily. This Pic is from the City House Backyard. It reminds me of this Lyric sung by Paul Simon's Wife...

'Philosophy, is the talk on a cereal box
Religion, is a smile on a dog
I'm not aware of too many things
I know what I know if you know what I mean'
