Early 40's.. Still trying to stay stopped. Drinking since I was 15. Though not heavily until I was an adult.

Early 40's and stayed sober for over 30 years. Then, a 4+ year relapse that ended over a year ago. No mater how long one has been sober you can't allow yourself to get cocky.

First time around, I was 21. The very first time I ever got drunk until I was admitted into rehab was less then 1 year. I stayed sober for 23 years.

This time around, 47. Started drinking again at 45, so this last time was a 2 year experience.

I went to rehab shortly after my 23rd birthday and I have been sober about 20 months. I don't think I could have "got it" any earlier. I just wasn't ready to stop abusing drugs and alcohol.

Well I believe I am the slowest of the slow learners. Stopped at 65 last June. Feel a whole lot better. Do NOT miss it at all. Thankfully.
