I want to scratch my skin off
I don't know anymore. I just want to scratch my skin off. It's 3:50 am. Been up since 2:15 am. Restless. Restless for the last two days. Not wanting to do anything not even sleep. I go to meetings. speak to my sponspor. do service. do the steps. Have a higher power... and yet i want to crawl out of my skin. Most of the time I don't even know what they are talking about in meetings. Six months and I feel like hell quite honestly.

I do Dee. But she had an emergency appointment. I was supposed to see her last night. I left her a message telling her that this time was an emergency so I am waiting now. thank you for replying. I know the only think to do is to take it to a professional. I am on meds and it feels like it might be meds related or maybe paws. i am not sure. all i know it is that the say: not feeling good in one's own skin could not be more appropriate. i want to tear it apart. physically and mentally. six months doesn't get any easier. when does it get easier Dee
I think we're all different.
It took me a while to feel comfortable in my own skin but I never had anything like what your experiencing DD.
Most of my first year was about getting better. It seemed to get a little easier after 3 months, then 6 months....
Do you think it's possible it's not strictly recovery related at all?

It gets easier honey, it does.
We are all different, it takes different times for different people.
Are you tiring yourself out enough in the day to ensure you sleep at night?

Honestly, it took me almost a full year to be comfortable. At 6 months, I was still scratching my skin and every now and then I do. My outpatient counselor said it happens because we are so uncomfortable in our own skin that we want to peel it off. Those were probably some of the worst symptoms for me and they seemed to last forever. It does get better and easier. You have to realize that you did years of damage to your body so you can't expect it to be healthy in a matter of months. I still have some issues and it's almost been two years. Good luck and just take it one day at a time.
